COMMUNITY NOTICE: EMERGENCY ELECTRICITY OUTAGE

Residents are advised that an emergency electricity outage will be implemented across Riviersonderend tomorrow due to urgent repairs by Eskom.

It is estimated that the outage will last from 09:00 until 16:30.

Eskom will be repairing two electricity poles damaged by a fire.

Areas affected include:
Riviersonderend
Buffeljagsbaai
All surrounding areas that are supplied from the Bredasdorp network.

Residents are requested to please plan accordingly.

Power supply will be restored as soon as the repairs are completed.

We apologise for the inconvenience caused and thank the community for their co-operation.

Water update - Riviersonderend

Water supply will remain interrupted until tomorrow due to very low reservoir levels and ongoing challenges in repairing the damaged pipeline.

Our teams are continuing with repairs as conditions allow.

A water truck will be roaming through the affected areas until 22:00 tonight and will resume rounds tomorrow morning from 06:00 to ensure residents have access to water for essential use.

We thank the community for their patience and cooperation.

Our teams are working to restore full supply as soon as possible.

Please be informed that the sport facility are to be closed from 10 December - 09 January 2026 for essential maintenance. No new bookings may be accepted. Only the pre- approved, confirmed event of 21 December 2025 will be honoured.
