||RBIDZ Hosts Annual Health Screening Day and Wellness Talks in Partnership with Discovery Health-4 June 2026

The RBIDZ Special Economic Zone in partnership with Discovery Health, successfully hosted its Annual Health Screening Day and Wellness Talks, demonstrating a shared commitment to promoting employee health, wellness and preventative care.

The event offered staff access to a range of health and wellness activities, including:

✔️ Blood pressure, glucose, cholesterol, and BMI assessments
✔️ Wellness and lifestyle talks by health professionals

The RBIDZ Special Economic Zone is participating at the DEVAC Infrastructure Summit taking place from 27–28 May in Johannesburg.

The summit has successfully commenced with strategic engagements and keynote presentations from principals representing key infrastructure portfolios across the African continent, including South Africa, Mozambique, Zimbabwe and other African states.

Opening the platform, Hon. Deputy Minister David Mahlobo highlighted the importance of collaboration in enabling the African continent to realise the goals of Agenda 2063 and make meaningful progress towards achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), which many African countries are still working towards attaining.

The Deputy Minister further emphasised that infrastructure remains the backbone of economic growth, enabling businesses to thrive and ensuring the efficient movement of goods and commodities across the continent. He also underscored the need for agility in the implementation of infrastructure projects to ensure timely delivery, budget efficiency and the creation of sustainable employment opportunities.

The conference continues with a series of panel discussions focusing on critical infrastructure implementation challenges across the continent, while exploring collaborative solutions to unlock infrastructure development and economic growth in Africa.

||RBIDZ and Nyanza Light Metals engage Richards Bay Community-21 May 2026

RBIDZ Special Economic Zone and Nyanza Light Metals held a successful community engagement programme at Veld en Vlei Community Hall; targeting Arboretum, Veld en Vlei and Birsdswood community as part of ongoing stakeholder consultations for the upcoming Nyanza Phase 2 project.

The engagement provided an opportunity to interact directly with community members, share updates on the project, unpack anticipated business and skills development opportunities and further discuss the role of the RBIDZ Labour Desk in supporting transparent and inclusive local participation.

These engagements form part of RBIDZ’s commitment to ensuring communities remain informed, engaged, and actively involved as the project progresses.
