Ithuseng Credit Solutions (ICS) is a debt management company that offers debt management solutions to individuals and companies.

We assist Consumers with Payment Arrangements, Credit Bureau Disputes, Unfair Debt Collection, Negotiating Settlement Discounts, Reckless Lending, Credit Disputes, Out of Court Settlements to prevent Car/ Home Repossessions & General Debt Management. We are registered with the National Credit Regulator as Alternative Dispute Resution Agents and Debt Counselors. ICS services include general credit and debt management information, assistance with developing and negotiating debt restructuring and repayment plans where consumers have experienced financial hardship due to retrenchment, maternity leave, divorce, separation and unexpected increases in expenses due to inflation, emergencies, death and illness in the family . We also assist consumers to negotiate out of Court Settlements with their Creditors to prevent the repossession of cars/homes. An IOL report, citing the latest Statistics South Africa figures, reported 30,248 summonses against private individuals in July 2026, up from 28,944 in July 2025. Across individuals and other debtors, 35,995 summonses were issued during the month.

Sometimes, an old debt needs to be investigated before you decide what to do with it.

Ithuseng identified prescribed debt during employee credit assessments and assisted with removing it from employees’ credit profiles.

Prescription has specific legal requirements. In the report, Ithuseng explains that debt more than three years old may be prescribed where there has been no judgment and the consumer has not acknowledged the debt. An acknowledgement of the debt can affect prescription.

Ithuseng Credit Solutions recently exhibited at an Eskom event, connecting with employees and sharing information about the practical financial wellness and credit support available to them.

Women’s Month | Meet Shadi Makgopa

Women in leadership bring more than experience to the table. They bring perspective, resilience and the ability to create opportunities for others.

Meet Shadi Makgopa, Ithuseng Credit Solutions’ Operations and Business Development Manager, whose career in financial literacy, credit solutions and debt counselling spans 10 years.

Shadi’s journey has taken her from financial markets administration and financial wellness education to debt counselling management and business development. She started as the first on-site consultant for a big mining project, where she provided financial wellness education and credit solutions to employees while training and mentoring consultants who joined the project.

She later became a Debt Counselling Manager, where she played a key role in establishing and structuring a dedicated debt counselling administration department, developing clearly defined roles and processes.

Today, Shadi continues to combine her financial services expertise with her passion for empowering people through practical guidance and structured solutions.

This Women’s Month, we celebrate women who continue to grow, lead, share their knowledge and create opportunities for others to move forward.
