When young people are given the knowledge, skills and opportunity to shape their futures, something powerful happens: potential becomes progress.

At Africa Transformation Services, our vision is the sustainable economic empowerment of youth through education, skills training, job placement and entrepreneurship.

We believe every learning journey should lead somewhere, to meaningful work, a sustainable income, a growing business or the ability to create opportunities for others.

By connecting young people, businesses and partners around a shared purpose, we can open doors that strengthen families, transform communities and build a more inclusive economy.

Together, let us build pathways that turn possibility into lasting prosperity.

Behind every meaningful transformation is a leader who can see the potential in people, and build the pathways that allow it to flourish.

We are proud to introduce Dr Onyi Nwaneri, Chief Executive Officer of Africa Transformation Services.

Dr Nwaneri has dedicated much of her career to helping people, organisations and communities realise their potential. Her experience across youth development, social impact and workforce solutions, has strengthened her belief that true empowerment must lead to employment, income, entrepreneurship and sustainable livelihoods.

As she leads ATS into its next chapter, her vision is clear: to bring people and opportunity together in ways that strengthen businesses, transform communities, and build a more inclusive economy.

Please join us in welcoming Dr Onyi Nwaneri to this exciting new chapter.

Every young person carries potential. What can change a life is the opportunity to put that potential to work. This belief has always guided us, and it remains at the heart of our next chapter.

We are proud to introduce Africa Transformation Services (ATS), formerly known as Afrika Tikkun Services.

Although our name and ownership have changed, our purpose remains the same: to help young South Africans move from learning and preparation into employment, income, entrepreneurship and sustainable participation in the economy. As an independent social enterprise, ATS is now even better positioned to connect people, businesses and partners around solutions that create meaningful and measurable impact.

This is more than a new identity. It is a renewed commitment to empower young people, strengthen businesses and help communities build brighter futures.

When potential meets opportunity, transformation becomes possible.

Building a business takes more than a great idea. It takes the skills and confidence to bring that idea to life. For young entrepreneurs, access to practical digital tools can make all the difference.
At a recent Canva workshop hosted for participants in the Social Employment Fund Micro Enterprise Programme at Afrika Tikkun, young entrepreneurs learned how to use digital tools to build their brands, create business websites and market their products and services with confidence.
By the end of the session, participants had practical skills they could apply immediately to strengthen their online presence and support the growth of their businesses.
This workshop forms part of the ongoing support available to SEF participants, equipping entrepreneurs with practical tools to build sustainable businesses and navigate an increasingly digital economy.
Thank you, Joshua Ngcongwane from Canva, for sharing your expertise and making design more accessible to aspiring entrepreneurs.

Congratulations to the 137 young people who have begun their learnership journey with Babcock through Afrika Tikkun Services' Head Start Programme.

For many young people, securing that first opportunity is often the biggest barrier to entering the world of work. Through the Head Start Programme, Afrika Tikkun Services connects young people with employers who are committed to developing future talent, providing valuable workplace experience, practical skills and exposure to the world of work.

A heartfelt thank you to Babcock for partnering with us to open doors for young people and invest in South Africa's future workforce.

As we continue to mark Youth Month, Afrika Tikkun's Alumni Leadership gathered at the Nelson Mandela Foundation for a day dedicated to strengthening leadership, advocacy and active citizenship.

Held under the theme "Reset at 50 – The Future Calls," the event created space for meaningful conversations on advocacy, active citizenship and what it means to lead with purpose.

Through engaging discussions and shared experiences, alumni were encouraged to embrace leadership beyond titles and consider how they can create meaningful impact within their communities and spheres of influence.

Thank you to the Nelson Mandela Foundation, our speakers and everyone who contributed to a meaningful exchange of ideas and experiences. We look forward to seeing our alumni put these insights into action as they continue to lead, advocate and serve within their communities.

This Youth Day, we honour the bravery and sacrifices of the young people who came before us, those who stood for freedom, dignity, and the promise of a better future.

As we reflect on their legacy, we also celebrate the voices, dreams, and potential of today’s youth.

At Afrika Tikkun, we believe that opportunity has the power to transform lives. Through access to education, skills development, and opportunities for employment, young people are empowered to build sustainable futures for themselves, their families and their communities.

Today, we celebrate the young people who are turning opportunity into impact and potential into purpose.

Young people need more than access to opportunities. They need the skills and support to seize them.

MTN Foundation recently brought together ecosystem partners, training providers and programme participants at the Afrika Tikkun x MTN Skills Academy Hub in Diepsloot for a stakeholder engagement under the Digital Skills for Digital Jobs programme.

With youth unemployment remaining one of South Africa's most pressing challenges, the engagement provided an opportunity to hear directly from young people in the programme and explore how digital skills development can contribute to improved employment outcomes.

Addressing youth unemployment requires collaboration. By working together, we can help ensure that young people are equipped with relevant skills and better positioned to access opportunities in the digital economy.

A group of pre-med students from the USA, participating in the iXperience Programme, recently partnered with Guud Drivers and the Discovery Safe Journey to School (DSJTS) programme at Rusthof LSEN in Strand.

As part of their community health engagement, the students assisted in conducting health checks and eye tests for scholar transport drivers participating in the DSJTS programme.

Thank you to all partners involved for contributing towards safer journeys for our learners and meaningful community impact.

What began as a response to hunger and unemployment has grown into a space of opportunity, skills development, and community impact through Dinkwe Ditlou, founded by Mathudi Mabusela.

Supported by Social Employment Fund and Afrika Tikkun Services, Dinkwe Ditlou is currently hosting 22 candidates, equipping young people with practical agricultural skills while tackling food insecurity and unemployment head on.

“Waking up hungry is a story no one should have to tell.”

Through farming, collaboration and shared purpose, this initiative is creating more than produce and livestock, it is creating sustainable livelihoods and opportunities for young people to build a better future for themselves and their communities.
