A Huge Congratulations to Our Leader, Mentor and Friend!

The entire team at DCGsa is overjoyed to celebrate a very special moment for our company and for the debt counselling profession in South Africa.

Please join us in congratulating our founder, boss, and steadfast advocate for financial justice, Casper le Grange, on his appointment as President of the Debt Counsellors Association of South Africa (DCASA)! 🇿🇦

This is not only a tremendous personal achievement but a milestone for our entire industry. Casper’s journey in debt counselling began over 15 years ago, driven by a passion to help everyday South Africans regain control of their financial lives and find dignity in the face of financial stress. Under his leadership, DCGsa has flourished into a respected voice of compassion, professionalism and ethical practice.

As President of DCASA, Casper now represents debt counsellors nationally, advocating for ethical standards, regulatory compliance, and consumer protection across the country. His role will shape the future of debt review in South Africa and ensure that families in financial hardship get the support, fairness and respect they deserve.

Casper’s leadership has always been about people first, not just numbers. Whether he’s negotiating with creditors, educating the public, or standing up for industry integrity, he pours his heart into every effort. We couldn’t be prouder of this well deserved honour.

From all of us at DCGsa, thank you for guiding us with wisdom, compassion, courage and integrity. We are inspired by you every day, and we look forward to walking this next chapter with you, continuing to transform lives and uplift communities across South Africa. 🇿🇦

Sometimes the most stressful part of money…
is not knowing.

Avoiding the numbers doesn’t make them disappear.
It only gives anxiety more space to grow.

The Bible reminds us:
📖 “The plans of the diligent lead surely to abundance.” — Proverbs 21:5

Diligence doesn’t mean perfection.
It means being willing to look — honestly and calmly.

Today’s gentle thought:
💭 What would change if I stopped avoiding and started understanding?

Peace often begins with clarity.

Good news for motorists — fuel prices have dropped!

Fuel prices in have fallen significantly, offering some relief at the pumps. Reports indicate that petrol prices were reduced by around R2.75 per litre in the latest adjustment — one of the largest drops in some time, as global crude oil eased and the rand strengthened.

How do today’s petrol prices compare to the past?

✔️ Fuel prices have been much higher over the past few years with regular increases.
✔️ Historical data shows petrol prices even ranged above R26/litre at peak periods and have come down from those highs.
✔️ The current price drop is one of the most noticeable in recent rounds of fuel adjustments.

Practical Options for What YOU Can Do with the Money You Save

Instead of spending your petrol savings without thinking, here are smart options if you’re mindful of debt and financial goals:

💰 1. Save for when fuel goes up again.
Fuel prices are volatile — they go up and down. Setting aside the extra money now can soften the blow when prices rise again.

🛠 2. Start or add to a maintenance/vehicle fund
Use the extra funds to cover vehicle costs like tires, servicing or repairs especially if you don’t already have an emergency car fund.

📉 3. Pay off your outstanding debt faster
Extra cash can chip away at loans or credit balances, reducing interest costs and helping you become debt-free sooner.

💵 4. Boost your savings & earn more interest
Placing the extra into a savings account can earn you interest instead of spending it — growing your financial cushion.

📌 A Simple Example

Let’s say you drive 50 L per week and the price drops by R2.75/L:

Weekly savings:R2.75 × 50L = R137.50
*Monthly savings:R137.50 × 4 = R550
**Yearly savings:~R6 600 just from the fuel price falling!

That’s money you can redirect to savings, debt, or vehicle maintenance, choose what helps you most. 💪
