International Coaching Week took place from 11 to 17 May 2026, and it is a meaningful reminder of the role coaching can play in how we grow, lead, and respond to life.
Coaching is often misunderstood.
It is not about someone fixing your life for you.
It is not about being told what to do.
And it is not only for moments when things are falling apart.
At its best, coaching creates space.
Space to pause.
Space to reflect.
Space to notice the patterns that keep repeating.
Space to understand why certain situations trigger the same reactions.
Space to reconnect with your values, choices, and inner capacity.
So much of real growth begins before behaviour changes.
It begins in awareness.
When you can see the story you are telling yourself, the emotion rising in the moment, and the pattern behind your response, you begin to lead yourself differently.
That is where coaching becomes powerful.
Not because it gives you all the answers, but because it helps you ask better questions.
And sometimes, one honest question can create the shift you have been looking for.
