🛩️🚁𝗔 𝗳𝗹𝘆-𝗶𝗻 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗮 𝗰𝗹𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗰 𝗱𝗶𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲
There are different ways to attract people to an airfield, the most obvious being to invite them to fly to or from the venue.
How, then, do you inform people who are not aviators about you?
The answer: Think out of the box and invite other forms of transport from days gone by, for a day next to the airfield … Make sense?
On Saturday, 30 May 2026, the answer proved to be a huge “yes” as a variety of classic cars and motorcycles gathered at the Kitty Hawk Aerodrome, east of Pretoria, for their inaugural . And what a success it was, exceeding all expectations.
There was a large turnout of classics on wheels, and aircraft, ranging from the much-loved and to modern Slings as well as various helicopters, including .
It was such a fun day for young and old who got to appreciate different forms of transport they seldom see in action or could admire up close and personal.
From wings to rotors, from Cobras to vintage bikes: these timeless beauties remind us of the journeys that built us and why Vektor Aviation would like to be your partner in ensuring that your aircraft is insured when making memories during your journeys.

Combining our love for nature with our love for flying, being part of the Zim Air Rally and visiting historic sites in our neighbouring Zimbabwe, is, in the words of Reon Wiese, the CEO of Vektor Aviation, “next level”.

This year, the 52nd edition of the Zim Air Rally took place in Bulawayo and its surroundings, focusing on the country’s history, including a visit to the grave site of Cecil John Rhodes at the World’s View, atop a granite hill in Zimbabwe's world-famous Matobo National Park.

There is something special about NAMPO: maybe it is the locals’ hospitality or the clean, crisp air of an early autumn morning in the Free State; maybe it is the quality of food or the time spent with family, farmers, traders, manufacturers or friends. Maybe you are serious about the new technology, equipment or innovations on offer, or discussions about agriculture, food security, our country’s future, or aviation.
The good news is that no-one needs a complicated reason to attend one of the biggest agricultural trade shows in the southern hemisphere, because NAMPO is open to everyone.

For those who want to save time on the road and opt to fly to NAMPO, the Vektor Aviation crew will be welcoming you at the NAMPO Airport (landing strip) as we have been doing with scores of pilots and their family, colleagues and friends, the past couple of days.

Day 2 of was filled with excitement, with thousands of visitors descending on outside Bothaville in the Free State.
While Day 2 saw an attempt to set a new Guinness World Record for the most bakkies at one venue, which seemed to have succeeded, the Vektor Aviation crew welcomed and interacted with visitors who had missed the kilometres-long queues to get to Nampo by opting to fly to the trade exhibition.
As an avid aviator, Reon Wiese, the CEO of Vektor Aviation, also opted for taking the aerial route the past 2 days, allowing him to appreciate the beauty of nature after the lovely rains.

With two days left for , the Vektor Aviation crew is looking forward to inspirational conversations with farmers, visitors and aviators at the Nampopark Airport lounge, discussing all things farming, aviation and insurance – or simply sharing a cup of coffee, before venturing out to the main exhibition.

There are few things in life as fulfilling as listening to the excitement in children’s voices, watching the anticipation in their eyes, and hearing their laughter as they await the adventure about to unfold. And then, witnessing the big hugs exchanged between children and crew who took them to the skies.
This is what the is all about: giving children hope that better days are coming, that people care about them, and that they, too, may one day sit in the pilot’s seat of an airplane or helicopter.
It is about giving children something to dream about and allowing them to share the excitement with their friends of this one special day when they were the VIPs.
Being part of this day is a highlight on Vektor Aviation’s annual calendar, where we do our bit to make this one of the most special days in the young lives of these children, doing the things that so many of us take for granted.
