Elrine and I are sharing a little of our breast cancer journey in this video. It is a very personal part of our lives.

When someone you love is diagnosed, there is so much uncertainty. You wonder what lies ahead for them and for your family.

One thing that made a real difference for us was community. Letting people in and allowing them to help.

To everyone who has supported us, checked in or simply been there: thank you. Those everyday gestures mean so much.

We also found moments of joy along the way. I bought Elrine a greenhouse during this time, and she describes walking into it as a celebration of life. That stays with me.

If you are going through something similar, please know that you don’t have to be strong every day. Allow people to love you and walk alongside you.

We hope sharing our story helps someone feel a little less alone.

Reflecting on a busy and rewarding week in Cape Town at the FPI Convention! 🌊📖

One of the best moments was seeing NMG Benefits present the awards to the winners of the FPI Student Financial Plan Competition. After judging their presentations earlier in the week, it was an honour to see their hard work recognised.

But the real highlight? Dinner with the finalists. Natasha Huggett Henchie and I spent the evening listening to their ambitions and sharing some of our own "war stories" from the industry.

It’s clear that the next generation of South African financial planners is ready to lead with empathy, tech-savviness, and a deep commitment to their clients.

We’re proud to support the Financial Planning Institute of South Africa in developing this talent. It’s a privilege to be involved in shaping the future of advice!

Today is the 10th Anniversary of this global movement, and this year’s theme, "Live your today. Plan your tomorrow", has never been more relevant for us in South Africa.

We’ve had two years to live with the "Two-Pot" retirement system. While it’s provided a lifeline for many, the data is starting to show a tricky trend: R57 billion has been withdrawn so far, and 60% of those claims are from people who have now dipped into their savings for a third time. 📉

It’s easy to feel like "living for today" means spending for today. But at NMG Benefits, we believe true financial freedom is knowing your "tomorrow" is already taken care of.
