Heart for Alternatives Pregnancy Crisis Center offers free pregnancy testing, confidential counselling, and crisis pregnancy support to women of all races and religions — both in person and over the phone.

💙 WHAT WE DO
We help wo

men make informed decisions about their pregnancy options. Our services include:
* Pre- & post-abortion counselling
* Referrals to social workers for adoption or foster care
* Community education & awareness programs
* Volunteer training

Every new mom who came to us for a pregnancy test receives a baby parcel before delivery — with nappies, baby clothing, blankets, and toiletries for mom.

🙋 ABOUT US & VOLUNTEERING
The center is led by Sue Pietersen, who manages daily activities and volunteer training. Our volunteers come from all walks of life and can serve in areas where they feel most comfortable — from counselling and admin to outreach, donation collections, and packing parcels.

We are so grateful for the opportunity this month to visit the Nelson Mandela Bay campus and connect with young men and women at such an important stage of their lives. ❤️

These years can be vulnerable, and helping young people understand their worth, recognise how amazing they are and make informed choices can shape the beautiful futures ahead of them. 🌸

We are also incredibly grateful for the wonderful clinic sisters at the campus. Your support, care and partnership mean so much to us, and we truly value the opportunity to work alongside you.

Sue had the privilege of speaking with the Peer Health Helpers at NMU. It was such an enjoyable opportunity to spend time with a group of passionate young people who are committed to supporting the health and well-being of others. The models of babies shown to the helpers encourage engagement in a practical way.

Thank you for the warm welcome, your thoughtful engagement, and the important work you do on campus. I hope our time together sparked meaningful conversations and provided encouragement as you continue making a difference in the lives of your peers.
