Here's a little emergency tip you might not know...

If your car starts overheating while you're driving, turning your heater on full blast can help draw some heat away from the engine and may help lower the engine temperature enough to get you to a safe place.

It's not a repair—just a temporary measure. If your vehicle is overheating, pull over as soon as it's safe to do so, let the engine cool, and have the problem checked by a trusted mechanic. Continuing to drive an overheating vehicle can cause serious engine damage.

Pop's Auto Shop is growing, and we're looking for a skilled, reliable and trade-qualified automotive technician to join our workshop team in Port Elizabeth.

If you're passionate about quality workmanship, have strong diagnostic abilities and enjoy solving mechanical problems, we'd love to hear from you.

Your role will include:
✔ Vehicle servicing, maintenance and mechanical repairs
✔ Diagnosing faults accurately and completing repairs efficiently
✔ Inspecting vehicles and reporting defects clearly
✔ Completing job cards and workshop records accurately
✔ Maintaining a clean, organised and safe workshop
✔ Working independently while contributing to a motivated team

Minimum requirements:
•⁠ ⁠Relevant motor mechanic/technician qualification
•⁠ ⁠Minimum 5 years' experience as a qualified automotive technician
•⁠ ⁠Strong diagnostic, fault-finding and problem-solving skills
•⁠ ⁠Valid driver's licence
•⁠ ⁠Good communication skills and attention to detail
