August was a good reminder of the value of showing up, staying connected and supporting the people around us.

We celebrated Women’s Month with an incredible group of women, with Zenith playing a big part in making our Women’s Day event possible, alongside the women-owned businesses that helped bring the day together.

We joined iTOO for Run100, backed the Boks on Bok Friday, and spent time connecting with businesses like Radiant and The Hive, each doing meaningful work in their own space.

Different moments. One thing in common: the people and relationships that make a strong community.

Leadership comes with influence, responsibility and, sometimes, personal exposure.

For directors, CEOs, founders and board members, a decision challenged in the company’s name can quickly become an allegation made against the individual behind it. That means your reputation, finances and years of work may be drawn into the matter too.

Directors & Officers Liability cover is there to help protect the people making decisions on behalf of a business. But the wording matters. Your cover should reflect your actual role, the decisions you make and the risks surrounding the organisation you lead.

This Women’s Month, it’s worth checking:

• Who is included in the definition of an insured person?
• Are legal defence costs covered, and when are they paid?
• Does the policy account for your specific role and responsibilities?
• Are there exclusions or gaps you may only discover when a claim arises?

Because protecting the business is important. Protecting the women entrusted with leading it matters too.

The recent breach involving Lego Certified Stores South Africa is a good example. The vulnerability was with a third-party database provider, not Lego’s own systems. But customer email addresses and phone numbers were still exposed.

Most of us hand over personal information every day without giving much thought to how many places it ends up. Retailers, apps, service providers, booking platforms.

𝗬𝗼𝘂 𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝗱𝗼 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗿𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝗼𝗻 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝘀𝗶𝗱𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗶𝗻𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗰𝗮𝘂𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝘂𝗽 𝗶𝗻 𝘀𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝗲𝗹𝘀𝗲’𝘀 𝗯𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗰𝗵.

Christmas came early at Dire Wolf.

Halfway through the year felt like a good time to pause, reflect on what we’ve built and spend time with the people behind the work.

The first six months have given us plenty to be grateful for: strong partnerships, meaningful progress and a team ready for what comes next.
