What is Gap Cover?

Gap Cover is a short-term insurance policy that provides shortfall for in-hospital treatment where doctors and specialists charge above medical aid rates.

Most people think that if you’re on a medical aid plan, you’re covered for any eventuality - This isn’t quite accurate.

Beyond the fact that each medical aid plan has very specific benefits, there are also specific medical aid rates. Medical aid rates are governed by legislation. Even a good medical aid plan can thus have a shortfall when specialists charge their rates for in-hospital treatments.

I would like to take this opportunity to write this letter to thank EB Solutions.

An accident can happen at any time, and I would like to say it would be great peace of mind, that when such an incident does happen, your medical aid of choice would come to the party.

My accident happened on the 24th of December 2022 and now has only been finalized, end of March 2023. Since I have submitted my claims, my medical aid has tried their utmost, not to pay as many of the claims as possible. John and Tasniem at EB Solutions have taken it upon themselves to assist me with the correspondence between myself and the hospital plan.

My bills have now been successfully paid and it saddens me that so many things have to be a battle. But it is very assuring and helpful, that when in such a predicament my broker helped and assisted me to sort the problems out.

So, thank you for all assistance patience and dedication to the problems that had to be dealt with.
