“I look forward to the next quarterly review of my portfolio.” That line stood out to me. Financial advice shouldn’t be a once-off meeting followed by years of silence. Markets change. Your circumstances change. Your goals change. And your financial plan needs to keep up.

That’s why regular reviews and open conversations are such an important part of the relationship we build with our clients. Regular reviews are about more than checking numbers on a page. They’re a chance to talk, reassess, ask questions and make sure your financial plan continues to work for you.

And when clients actually look forward to those conversations, we know we’re doing something right.

Moving abroad with a UK ISA? There’s one rule many expats miss. Your ISA may be tax-free in the UK.

That doesn’t necessarily mean it’s tax-free in the country you move to. Once you become non-UK resident, you generally can’t make new ISA contributions. You can keep your existing ISA and it remains sheltered from UK tax, but your new country may tax the interest, dividends or gains within it.

That can come as an unwelcome surprise. If you’re moving to South Africa, already living here, or planning a return to the UK, it’s worth reviewing your ISA as part of your wider financial plan rather than assuming the UK rules travel with you.

A move across borders can change the rules around your money too. Read the full article by clicking here - https://holbornassets.com/blog/your-isa-and-moving-abroad/

Moving abroad changes how your ISA works. You can't pay in, and your new country may tax it. Here's the full picture and what the 2027 ISA change means.

When markets become uncertain, investors often start looking for stability. That is one of the reasons gold has remained relevant for generations.

Gold is not about chasing trends or short-term headlines. It has historically been viewed as a store of value during periods of volatility, inflation and global uncertainty. For many investors, it forms part of a broader diversification strategy alongside equities, property, offshore assets and other investments.

The key is understanding where assets like gold fit within an overall long-term financial plan, rather than reacting emotionally to market noise. In uncertain times, diversification matters more than ever.

A second passport or residency option is not about abandoning where you live. For many families, it is simply about creating flexibility.

Access to education.
Ease of travel.
Future work opportunities.
Healthcare options.
Political and economic diversification.

The world has changed. More people are thinking internationally about their future. And increasingly, wealth planning forms part of that conversation.

Two people can earn exactly the same income and need completely different financial strategies.

Family responsibilities, business interests, retirement goals and lifestyle all shape the advice they need.

Your financial plan should reflect your life, not someone else's.

Financial planning isn’t about predicting the future. It’s about building resilience. Markets will change. Interest rates will change. Governments will change.

Your financial plan shouldn’t depend on getting those predictions right. Instead, it should be flexible enough to adapt.

The clients who sleep best at night aren’t necessarily those with the highest returns.

They’re the ones with a clear strategy, regular reviews and confidence that their finances are built for the long term. That’s what real wealth protection looks like.

If you’d like to review your own financial strategy, I’d be happy to help 👉🏼 https://bit.ly/HolbornFinancialReview

Do you actually know where your pension is? It’s a simple question.

But for many people, the answer isn’t as straightforward as they think.

Knowing the name of your pension provider isn’t the same as understanding how your retirement savings are invested, whether they’re performing as they should, or if they’re still aligned with your long-term goals.

Your pension is likely to be one of the biggest assets you’ll ever own.

It deserves more than an annual statement. In this webinar, I explore some of the questions everyone should be asking about their pension, why they matter, and how small changes today could make a significant difference in the future.

Building wealth is only half the journey. The other half is making sure it lasts. For many families, that means thinking beyond investments.

It means asking questions like:
• Is my estate structured correctly?
• Are my assets tax efficient?
• Would my family know what to do if something happened tomorrow?
• Is my wealth positioned for the next generation?

These conversations aren’t always urgent. But they’re always important. The earlier you plan, the more options you usually have.

If protecting your wealth is as important as building it, I’d welcome the opportunity to talk.

Estate planning isn’t about preparing for the end of life. It’s about protecting the people who matter most.

Many people assume that writing a will is enough. In reality, a well-structured estate plan can include trusts, powers of attorney, life insurance and tax planning to help ensure your wishes are carried out efficiently. It can also reduce unnecessary delays, protect your assets and provide greater financial security for your loved ones.

One of the biggest mistakes I see is people putting estate planning off because they think it’s only for the wealthy.

It isn’t. If you have a family, own property, have investments or simply want to decide what happens to your assets, estate planning is one of the most important financial conversations you can have.

The best time to put a plan in place is before you need it. If you’d like to discuss how to protect your legacy and your family, I’d be happy to help.

Wealth isn’t built by what you earn. It’s protected by what you plan.

Many people spend decades building wealth but very little time thinking about how to protect it.

A market downturn, a tax change, inflation or an unexpected life event can undo years of hard work if your finances aren’t structured correctly.

Protecting your wealth isn’t about being pessimistic.

It’s about being prepared.

The strongest financial plans don’t just focus on growth. They consider risk, diversification, tax efficiency and succession planning long before they’re needed.

If you’ve worked hard to build your wealth, it’s worth making sure it’s equally well protected.

If you’d like to review your current wealth strategy, I’d be happy to have a confidential conversation.
