Knock it off. Knock it off. Knock it off.
When a dangerous situation develops in the air, whether it’s an unsafe maneuver, loss of situational awareness, or something just doesn’t feel right, anyone can call "Knock It Off." And when they do, it’s not debated or ignored. It’s immediately acknowledged, and everyone stops what they’re doing to assess and reset.
There’s no rank associated with calling "Knock It Off." A brand-new wingman has just as much authority to say it as the most senior flight lead. Why? Because safety and mission success depend on trust, accountability, and a shared responsibility to look out for one another.
Imagine if more teams operated this way. If anyone, regardless of title, could speak up when they see something heading in the wrong direction. If leaders not only encouraged it but responded immediately, without ego or defensiveness. That kind of culture prevents costly mistakes, builds confidence, and strengthens teams.
In your organization, do people feel empowered to call "Knock It Off" when something isn’t right? And more importantly, when they do, does the team listen?
