As we move into the final stretch of the year, I’ll be taking a break from 12 December 2025 to 12 January 2026 to rest, reset, and spend meaningful time with my family.

It’s been a year filled with change, growth, and powerful conversations and I’m deeply grateful to every client, colleague, and connection who trusted me to walk part of their journey.

Whether you’re ending this year on a high or simply proud to have made it through, I hope you find time to pause, breathe, and reflect on how far you’ve come.

And if there’s one piece of advice I can leave you with as we wrap up 2025, it’s this: Make sure your financial plan still fits the life you’re building. Even the smallest adjustment now can bring real peace of mind in the year ahead.

Thank you for being part of this season. Wishing you and your loved ones a safe, joyful, and blessed festive season.

Looking ahead always starts with what the past year has taught us.

2025 reminded me how quickly life can shift, but it also proved that when you’ve got a plan, you’re better equipped to face whatever comes next, with a bit more confidence and calm.

As we head into December, I’ve been thinking about how to make 2026 feel a little more prepared, a little more protected… and a lot more peaceful.

So, let me ask; what’s one thing you’d love to feel more confident about in the year ahead?

Is it:
▪ Your home and family’s security
▪ Building your savings or retirement
▪ Getting your will or estate plan in order
▪ Or just feeling less stressed about your finances?

December: where budgets go to say goodbye.

Between gifts, get-togethers, and that “treat yourself, it’s been a year” energy, it adds up quickly.

But here’s the thing: you can still enjoy the season and keep your savings intact.
It just takes a plan smarter than your wish list.

✅ Know your limit and actually stick to it
✅ Swap one big splurge for a memory-making moment
✅ Track the “little things”… they’re sneakier than you think
✅ Say no to last-minute FOMO buys (they never feel worth it in January)
✅ And wherever you can… wait. January deals are real and way less stressful

A little planning now means entering 2026 calm, not catching up.

What’s doing the most damage to your December budget this year?

A) “Just one more gift”
B) “Festive food & drinks”
C) “Travel & holidays”
D) “All of the above, send help”

Retiring this December?

Firstly, congratulations. Reaching this milestone is no small thing.
But if you’re still feeling unsure about what comes next, you’re not alone.

I’ve spoken to many people in the same season who are excited for what’s ahead, but also unsure about the financial steps to take and are left asking questions like:
➡️ How should your retirement savings be structured now?
➡️ What happens with your life cover, income, or medical aid?
➡️ How do you draw from your retirement annuity or pension fund without risking long-term stability?

If any of those questions sound familiar, I’d be honoured to help, or even just to have a conversation.

Whether you're retiring this month or want to feel more confident about the decisions ahead, I’m here to walk the journey with you.

Reach out if you'd like to talk through your options or feel free to share this with someone who’s preparing for retirement too.

Because no one should have to navigate this chapter alone.

Elf on the Shelf is back.
The kids are thriving.
Me? I’m hanging on like this guy... with two cable ties and a prayer. 😅

This time of year is magic… but let’s be honest — it’s also exhausting.
School concerts, gift lists, year-end madness, and 43 tabs open in your brain at once.

As a dad, I get it. And while we’re all doing our best to make memories, it helps knowing the financial side is under control too because peace of mind? That’s the real holiday win.

So here's to holding it together (and maybe booking that financial check-in before the year ends).

Parents, how are you doing, really?

It’s that time of year again when the “new year, new goals” thinking start to kick in … until February hits. 😅

But here’s the thing: your future self is watching.
And they’re quietly saying:

“Please… just make one smart financial move before 2026.”

Whether that means starting your retirement savings, or simply increasing what you already contribute, it’s a step your future self will thank you for in a big way.

Because retirement planning isn’t about how much you can put away today; it’s about getting started, staying consistent, and being intentional.

Your future deserves a plan. Not another promise to “get to it later.”

What’s one smart financial move you want to tick off before the year ends?

We rise by lifting others.

Not just in words, but in access. In opportunity. In how deeply we choose to understand one another.

Whether it’s helping someone navigate their finances, mentoring a colleague, or simply listening without judgement, small acts of support can leave a lasting impact.

Because real growth isn’t only about what we build for ourselves…
It’s about what we make possible for others, too.

Who’s someone that lifted you this year? Tag them or share a word of thanks below 👇🏻

You know when your brain says “power through”…but your body’s like “actually, let’s not”?

Same.

Right now, even replying to an email feels like a full-body workout. 😅
So I’ve made a deal with myself: work gets done, but after hours, I make time to reset.

For me, that means hitting the padel court; after work or on the weekend, and swinging like the ball owes me money.

What’s your go-to reset when your energy’s running low?

We plan so many things: holidays, birthdays, the next big chapter, but the hardest plans are often the ones we keep putting off.

Estate planning isn’t really about money or paperwork.
It’s about love.
It’s about saying, “I’ve made sure you’ll be okay, even if I’m not there to say it.”

So, before 2026 arrives, take a quiet moment to think:
If something unexpected happened tomorrow… would your loved ones know your wishes?

👉 Poll: What do you think stops most people from sorting out their will?

1. I just haven’t gotten to it yet
2. I don’t think I have enough to plan
3. It feels complicated
4. I’ve done it, and it’s a relief

Your answer might just be the nudge someone else needs to take that step.

If only our salaries grew as fast as our kids’ shoe sizes

They say children grow up fast, but have you noticed how quickly school fees follow?

Between new uniforms, sneakers, and stationery that seem to vanish overnight, education costs rise faster than we expect.

That’s why a proper plan matters; not just to save, but to protect.

In 2024, Group SA’s EduCator Benefit paid out R48.6 million to keep 777 children in school when life took unexpected turns for their parents.

Because, while you can’t slow down how quickly they grow, you can make sure their education keeps moving forward...no matter what.
