✈️ NO FLYOVER THIS WEEKEND? THINK AGAIN…

After last week’s slightly-too-close-for-comfort flyover at the stadium, we figured that was that.

No more planes.
No more drama.
Back to insurance.

Until Monday morning…

We were quietly getting on with our day at Hibiscus Brokers when suddenly…

The building started shaking.

Naturally, we did the only sensible thing:

Ran outside to see what on earth was going on!

And there it was…

A plane flying way too close for comfort.

At this point, we beginning to think the universe is trying to remind us of something.

You can go about your day thinking everything is perfectly fine…

Until suddenly something comes flying at you from completely out of nowhere.

A burst pipe.
A smashed windscreen.
A storm.
A break-in.
A business interruption.
A liability claim.

And suddenly the question becomes:

“Wait… am I covered for this?”

Today is one of those bittersweet days at Hibiscus.

After 10 incredible years, we say goodbye to our wonderful Claims Administrator, Marlene, as she begins a well-deserved retirement ✨

It’s impossible to put into words just how much she means to us. Marlene has been so much more than a colleague – she has been a true friend, a mentor, a source of wisdom, laughter, and encouragement. She has a way of making every day brighter, always ready with one of her unforgettable stories, a listening ear or words of advice when they were needed most.

Her kindness, dedication and unwavering support have left a lasting mark on all of us and the office simply won’t be the same without her 😢

While we’re so excited for this new chapter, filled with precious time spent with her family and the opportunity to enjoy a slower pace of life, there is no denying how much we are going to miss her. We hope she knows that her seat at Hibiscus will always be waiting for a visit, a cup of coffee and another one of those legendary stories.

Marlene, thank you for everything you’ve given over the past decade.

We wish you every happiness in your retirement. May this season bring you as much joy as you’ve brought to all of us.

And just know... we’ll miss you every bit as much as you’re going to miss the beach 🏖️
