Today is one of those bittersweet days at Hibiscus.

After 10 incredible years, we say goodbye to our wonderful Claims Administrator, Marlene, as she begins a well-deserved retirement ✨

It’s impossible to put into words just how much she means to us. Marlene has been so much more than a colleague – she has been a true friend, a mentor, a source of wisdom, laughter, and encouragement. She has a way of making every day brighter, always ready with one of her unforgettable stories, a listening ear or words of advice when they were needed most.

Her kindness, dedication and unwavering support have left a lasting mark on all of us and the office simply won’t be the same without her 😢

While we’re so excited for this new chapter, filled with precious time spent with her family and the opportunity to enjoy a slower pace of life, there is no denying how much we are going to miss her. We hope she knows that her seat at Hibiscus will always be waiting for a visit, a cup of coffee and another one of those legendary stories.

Marlene, thank you for everything you’ve given over the past decade.

We wish you every happiness in your retirement. May this season bring you as much joy as you’ve brought to all of us.

🚨 Cybercrime Alert: Vishing is on the Rise

A convincing phone call could cost you far more than you think.

Vishing (voice phishing) is a growing scam where criminals impersonate trusted organisations such as banks, government departments, airlines and service providers. Armed with personal information obtained through data breaches and social media, they make their calls sound genuine and urgent.

Recent South African victims have lost millions of rand after being tricked into clicking links, sharing banking details, or authorising fraudulent transactions.

🔒 Protect yourself by remembering:
✅ Your bank will never ask you to approve transactions to “stop” fraud.
✅ Never click links or download apps sent during an unsolicited call.
✅ If you’re unsure, end the call and contact the organisation using their official contact details.
✅ Always verify before sharing personal or banking information.
