Can insurance become as personal, powerful, and trusted as funeral cover?
That was the challenge facing the Top 8 contestants in this week’s episode of The Insurance Apprentice 2026… and it may have been one of the toughest briefs yet.
In South Africa, funeral cover carries deep meaning.
It represents dignity. Respect. Security. Family. Pride.
But how do you create that same emotional connection with short-term insurance?
How do you reposition car and home cover as something that protects livelihoods, builds wealth, and creates lasting peace of mind?
That was the task.
Split into two teams led by the competition’s highest scorers so far, Asanda and Karabo, contestants had to rethink how non-life insurance is positioned and communicated to South Africans.
🔹 Catalysts for Change led by Asanda
🔹 Project eKhaya led by Karabo
The ideas were bold. The creativity was strong. The conversations were real.
But the judges challenged both teams on one critical issue:
“How do people actually pay for this?”
Because in insurance, relevance matters.
But accessibility matters too.
After a tough round of presentations and intense feedback from the judges, Catalysts for Change secured the win.
That meant Project eKhaya faced elimination. In the end, it came down to Gugu and Milady.
Sadly, this week we said goodbye to Milady Buthelezi. 👏
Thank you for your passion, energy, and contribution to the competition. We wish you nothing but success for the future ahead.
And then there were 7…
⭐ Asanda Magwaza
⭐ Bhekoshange Shange
⭐ Gugu Mathibela
⭐ Jordan Earl Shunmugam
⭐ Karabo Mashego
⭐ Kgothatso Ramokgopa
⭐ Tyrell Moodley
Congratulations to the Top 7! The competition is getting tougher, the pressure is rising, and every decision counts.
