Do I have to pay tax on my side hustle?
That extra income from freelancing, consulting, tutoring, selling products or other business activities doesn't automatically fly under SARS' radar.
Income from a business or trade can form part of your taxable income and generally needs to be declared.
The good news? Certain expenses incurred in producing that income may qualify as deductions, so you're not necessarily taxed on every rand you earn.
And if you're earning a salary plus side-hustle income, your total taxable income can affect your final tax liability.
Not sure what you need to declare or what expenses you can claim?
