Yesterday, we had the privilege of hosting our Annual Client Function at the Fairway Hotel, and what a special day it turned out to be.
There is something incredibly valuable about stepping away from our desks, spending time with clients face-to-face, sharing ideas, and reflecting on the opportunities and challenges that lie ahead.
A heartfelt thank you to our speakers, Kevin Lings from STANLIB, Cornelius Zeeman from Fairtree, Warren Davison, CFA, CIPM from PSG Asset Management, Bismarck du Plessis, and Jantjie Jonker from JAKKALSVLEI VINEYARDS, who each brought their own unique perspective and left our guests with much to think about.
While the discussions covered a wide range of topics, a few themes stood out:
🌈 There is genuine reason to be hopeful about South Africa's future.
📉 We shouldn't allow short-term market noise and constant headlines to distract us from our long-term goals.
🌍 Exciting opportunities continue to emerge in emerging markets for investors who remain patient and disciplined.
A special word of thanks to Bismarck du Plessis for sharing fascinating stories from his Springbok rugby career. His insights into teamwork, resilience, leadership, and performing under pressure resonated strongly with everyone in the room, often with plenty of laughter along the way.
Thank you also to Jantjie Jonker for sharing the inspiring story behind Jakkalsvlei. Hearing about the journey, the challenges overcome, and the passion required to build the brand into what it is today was a powerful reminder that success is rarely an overnight achievement.
Most importantly, thank you to our clients. Your support, trust, and continued partnership are what make events like these possible. It was wonderful to spend the day together, to learn from such exceptional speakers, and to be reminded that while markets may fluctuate, relationships remain at the heart of what we do.
We left the event feeling optimistic, encouraged, and excited about the opportunities ahead.
