Today, we honour all women in South Africa. Women that are juggling the impossible task of balancing increased productivity while working from home. Women that are homeschooling children whilst simultaneously taking care of the home, all during a global pandemic. Women that often bear the brunt of care giving work when family members fall ill. We appreciate everything you do. We admire your resilience. So, just as the women that marched in 1956 protesting unjust pass laws did, today we take the battle further. As organisations, we should interrogate and take meaningful action when it comes to recruiting women in senior positions, closing the gender pay gap and supporting SMMEs that are woman owned. It is not enough to pay lip-service to this day, let us put our money where our mouth is. 🔥
