The Gauteng Enterprise Propeller (GEP) is a provincial government agency which provides non-financial and financial support to SMMEs in Gauteng of Economic Development to provide support to small,medium and micro size enterprises and co-operatives in Gauteng. GEP also provides tailored financial and non-financial services that enable SMME's and Co-op's to become active participants in Gauteng's mainstream economy.

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Mr Obed Hutamo, Specialist: Strategic Planning, based at the GEP Head Office.

Ntate Obie, as he was fondly known, served the Department of Economic Development and the GEP in various capacities for over 15 years. During his years of service, he made a meaningful contribution to the development of MSME policies and strategies, supporting efforts to grow and strengthen the provincial economy.

Obed left a positive and lasting mark on everyone who had the privilege of working with him.

We are grateful for the years we shared with him, for his service, and for the contribution he made to the GEP and the broader economic development agenda of the province.

Our deepest condolences go to his family, friends, colleagues and all those who knew and worked with him during his years of service.

May his soul rest in peace. 🤍
