STC Africa

STC Africa Connect. Engage. Contribute The Hookup Dinner is hosted monthly across various cities in South Africa and select countries in SADC, East and West Africa.

The Hookup Dinner is a Sub-Saharan African network of emerging entrepreneurs brought together by three core values; to connect, engage and contribute to each other’s success. In servicing the “bottom of the pyramid” entrepreneurs (i.e. entry level startups), we are intentional on educating startups of the opportunities to trade, that exist across Africa and create connections between stakeholders

that can scale startups. Some of our goals include:
• Creating channels of investment within the African startup ecosystem that will increase Intra-African trade by 1% within the next decade.
• Building a pipeline of 1 million connected startups by 2020.
• Access, Access, Access! Educating African startups on the use of technology to access information, training, markets and capital. Twitter: ...also follow

This past Saturday - we had the pleasure of hosting a lekgotla/imbizo in Cape Town.

A knowledge-sharing session that connected entrepreneurs and members of the community to share their insights, their journey, and experience.

We laughed, shared incredible stories, and heard some amazing business ideas from the Allan Gray Orbis Foundation fellows - Thank you for powering this event.

A warm thank you to our panel who shared their stories and gave us food for thought. Alison Godenir, Paria Rajput - Le Culinist, Simphiwe Mntambo, and our MC for the day, Arthur Mexico.

As you know he is a big believer and a champion of collaboration in problem-solving. Selebogo understands grassroots entrepreneurship and has built an African continental network of entrepreneurs, innovators, and problem-solvers.

From networking events to crowdfunding for SME’s and building community capital models on the back of stokvels for franchise stores ownership, there are no limits to what Selebogo thinks when it comes to building sustainable community models.
