SARS has officially opened the Employer Interim Reconciliation period (EMP501) from *22 Sept – 31 Oct 2025*.
All employers must reconcile PAYE, UIF & SDL for 1 Mar – 31 Aug 2025 using e@syFile™ Employer or eFiling.

*⚠️ Key updates:*
- New e@syFile Thin Client replaces “Flex” version.
- Updated BRS v24.0.2 – check payroll compliance.
- From Feb 2026, valid Income Tax numbers required for all employees.

*⏰ Deadline: 31 Oct 2025.* Late or incorrect submissions = penalties & possible criminal offences.

🚨 News Alert: Former Springbok legend Schalk Burger Snr and his wine farm have been sentenced for tax evasion. They failed to submit multiple VAT, PAYE and income tax returns going back years. He’s been penalized R56,000 (payable in installments) or faces 112 months in prison. Fully suspended fines add R28,000 in conditional penalties. His son also faces significant fines for a similar issue.

This is a strong reminder: No filing = serious consequences. Missing deadlines can put anyone—even celebrities—at risk of steep fines or legal action.
