With so many people having their budgets squeezed to the limit, I decided to challenge myself and see how far I could stretch a single paper pack. In this instance, I used the Celebr8 Just Be You Paper pack, some Little Birdie Flowers, stencils, chalks and other bits & pieces I had in my stash. So far I have completed 3 double page layouts and 14 greeting cards and I still have paper left over!
I am determined not to waste a single scrap of paper and to prove to myself that I can scrap without breaking the bank!
All the pages have booklets for extra photos and journaling.
*Believe In Yourself takes 11 photos & has a shaker box
*Just Be You takes 14 photos
*Original Strong Fearless has 2 booklets and takes 7 photos

Take care, stay safe and happy crafting.

This week I would like to highlight a product that I believe makes paper crafting a lot easier. The versatile and cost effective DieCut 'N Bond comes in a 25m x 120mm roll and is a paper thin adhesive sheet, perfect for creating beautiful, flexible embellishments, when used with your favourite cutting dies. The DieCut 'N Bond saves time and allows you to adhere intricate die cut shapes to your project, without the use of messy glue.

For our project, I combined DieCut 'N Bond with GoPress Heat Activated Foil (Rose Gold), to create an embellishment for one of the scrapbooking pages in our Lockdown Diary. The following steps were used to create this unique embellishment:

*Cut 2 pieces of DieCut 'N Bond (slightly bigger than the Die) and stick one piece to the front and one piece to the back of a piece of smooth white cardstock.
*Remove the backing from one side of the DieCut 'N Bond and gently lay a piece of Heat Activated Foil over the top of it. Use a brayer (if you don't have one, a piece of roller towel will do) to make sure the foil is properly adhered to the cardstock, and that all the bubbles have been removed. While you are rubbing the foil, you will notice that as the foil sticks to the DieCut 'N Bond, a thin sheet of plastic becomes detached from it. Gently pull this plastic off and discard it.
*Place your chosen die onto the foiled cardstock and run it through your Die Cutting Machine (GoCut & Emboss, Cuttlebug, Cricut, Silhouette etc.)
*Carefully remove your die-cut from the die, peel the backing off of the DieCut 'N Bond (the piece you stuck on the back of the cardstock) and adhere your unique embellishment to your project!

That's all for today - I hope you learnt something new! Please post your completed projects, using unique embellishments you have created with DieCut 'N Bond & Heat Activated Foil, on our page for us to admire and to inspire other crafters.

Take care, stay safe and happy crafting!

We have recently created an entire 12x12 Lockdown Diary, using only a single pack of patterned paper (Lockdown Paper Pack from De Art Studio) and we had leftovers for making cards & embellishments for other pages. Creating your own background paper allows you to stretch your patterned paper packs that much further, making scrapping a lot more economical. This works especially well if you are doing an entire album in one theme. To complete the background for our page, we used the following steps:
*Use cooled, boiled water to thin some Mixed Media Paste down to a "runny crumpet batter" consistency. Paint the background pages with this mixture, then set them aside to dry completely.
*Mix inks to the desired colour. I used White Kaisercraft Mist Spray and added black to one bottle, Turquoise to the second one and brown to the third one. You could also use All Purpose Inks to colour the white mist, instead of using other coloured mists. Spray liberally onto the background pages, and while still wet, scatter coarse salt (I used dishwasher salt) onto the pages. You will notice that the salt immediately begins to absorb the ink, creating lovey patterns. Leave to dry completely.
*Dust the salt off of the page, then use a piece of roller towel to rub the page and ensure that all traces of the salt have been removed.
*Apply Mixed Media Paste (not the watered down one) to the page through a stencil and allow to dry completely.
*Your unique background pages are now ready to use!

That's all for today - I hope you have learnt something new! Please post your completed projects, using backgrounds you have created, on our Creative Scrapbooking and Crafting page for us to admire and to inspire other crafters.

Enjoy the Now! A layout of Michelle Carrick and her hubby taking the scenic route. She used a 7-single LP, stenciling with white gesso, adding Grit Paste and then applying alcohol inks and a touch of Carmine Liquid Acrylic Paint to create the effect. She then coloured the dry wall tape with Black StazOn and Aqua ColorBox inks. While applying the dry wall tape with black ink, she also used it as a stencil on the background, adding stamps and splattered paint. She then fussy cut paper adding die cut clocks, metal cogs and key to complete the look.

When last did you use a page planner/stencil to complete a layout? Using templates can make a page very quick and economical to complete. This double layout used very little patterned paper and holds 18 photographs and has plenty of space for journalling inside the 2 booklets.
