As we near the end of yet another crazy year (2026 has been “special”), perhaps we need to compile a little checklist before we draw-up the Christmas wish-list.

This year has been a rollercoaster of change and challenges for us as a family. Our third daughter was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes in July, just two months before the birth of our fourth little girl.
In the heat of the moment, there was no time to start making provision for an ICU stay, the unexpected medical (AND food expenses) or the loss of income as a parent suddenly needing to be available 24/7. Thankfully, we had made provision for almost everything.
