As part of the South African Shipping Gala, we are proud to announce the Durban Seafarers Mission as the recipient of this year’s R50 000 donation.
Seafarers spend months away from their families and communities, working tirelessly to keep the global supply chain moving. Their dedication is fundamental to the maritime industry, yet the challenges they face often extend far beyond their work onboard.
The Durban Seafarers Mission plays a vital role in supporting seafarers around the world by providing practical, emotional and welfare support, helping ensure that those who spend their lives at sea have a place to turn to. As an ecumenical centre, it welcomes all seafarers visiting the Port of Durban, offering a place of comfort, connection, and assistance when they need it most.
We are honoured that the South African Shipping Gala can contribute to this important work and, in doing so, give back to the people at the heart of our industry.
