As Women's Month continues, we also continue to spotlight the amazing women that make up the NFS Group team. This is what Najma Khan, a trainee advisor has to say leadership, evolution and what she's learnt while working for the group.
ON LEADERSHIP
Working alongside strong women in leadership has taught me that there is no single way to be successful. Each of the women I work with leads differently, but they all share qualities that I deeply admire.
From our founder, Madhu, I've learnt the importance of having a clear vision, staying true to your values, and leading with integrity. Watching her build a successful businesses over many years while also prioritising her faith and family has shown me that success is about more than business, it is about building a meaningful legacy.
From our CEO, Nirishi, I've learnt that leadership requires resilience, adaptability, and the ability to balance competing priorities. Seeing her successfully lead two companies while raising a family has reinforced that women can excel in demanding careers without losing sight of what matters personally.
Our director, Beejal, has reminded me that there is no single definition of success. Her dedication to her career and passion for travel have shown me that pursuing personal goals and building a fulfilling life can take many different forms.
Personally, the biggest lesson I've learnt is that every person has something valuable to teach you. Whether through leadership, compassion, or simply the way they approach challenges, I've realised that continuous learning and remaining open-minded are some of the greatest strengths you can have.
ON HOW SHE’S EVOLVED SINCE 2019
Today, what still surprises me is that I am more resilient, more open-minded, and more confident than I was in 2019. I've learnt that success is not always about following the path you originally planned, sometimes it's about making the most of the opportunity’s life presents and continuing to grow through every experience. I've learnt that growth often comes from embracing change. No matter what challenge I've faced, I've always given my best, kept learning, and refused to give up.
