Global Stock Markets – The future investment landscape

Global equity markets have nearly tripled since 2003, climbing to $109 trillion in total market capitalization. With the world’s deepest capital markets, the U.S. making up 42.5% of global equity market capitalization, outpacing the next closest economy, the European Union (11.1%). In the last 20 years, China’s economy has increased by 12-fold, reaching $19.4 trillion this year. China’s equity markets have also grown considerably, fueled by the incorporation of Chinese domestic stocks into the MSCI Emerging Market Index in 2018.

Given the structural shifts stemming from growing populations and GDP growth - Goldman Sachs projects that U.S. equity market capitalization will fall to 35% of the overall global market by 2030. Meanwhile, all emerging markets incl. China (14.1%) and India (4.1%) are collectively forecast to reach the 35% in the same timeframe. By 2050 the EM share is anticipated to far surpass the U.S., rising to 47% of global stock markets.

Beware of an ongoing vehicle theft scam affecting the entire industry, in which you could potentially become the next victim.

Owners of high-end vehicles from various leading brands are being targeted. Criminal organisations are employing deceptive methods such as fraudulent emails, text messages, and phone calls to approach vehicle owners. These notifications may closely mimic the official corporate branding of the vehicle manufacturer. They will claim that the owner's vehicle is required for urgent safety recall work or special servicing, and that a representative from the specific manufacturer will collect the vehicle.

It is important to be aware that any attempt to collect your vehicle under such circumstances is an elaborate scheme to defraud you. The criminals aim to trick you into surrendering your vehicle, along with its keys and service documentation.

Should you receive any such notification or be contacted through any means, it is crucial that you immediately reach out to your vehicle dealership. Verify the authenticity of the recall or repair request by speaking directly with a known individual at the dealership—someone you have dealt with before or who you recognise. Additionally, report the incident to either the Service Manager or the Dealer Principal at any of the affiliated dealerships. Your prompt action can help prevent falling victim to this fraudulent activity.
