Many patients have to visit their doctor twice yearly for their chronic medication check ups. At that visit the GP will draw the required blood samples, if applicable, and send these off to the laboratory of his choice. The patient is then at the mercy of that lab and their fees. Why not try this. Phone around to ascertain which lab is the cheapest, take that lab form to your GP when you go for your consult and ask him to complete which tests are required. Then go to the lab yourself. We recently found that 2 pathology labs differed by as much as 36%.
