The euro struggled against the dollar on Friday as investors expect the European Central Bank will lower interest rates this week following weak economic data out of the euro zone; the US Federal Reserve, however, says it sees economic improvement. South Africa's unemployment rate fell to 24.7% between July and September, from 25.6% in the 2nd quarter. (Economists had expected the rate to increase to 25.8%).
