Last week, we had the privilege of hosting our Women's Month client event themed “Wellbeing by Design: Body, Mind, Money”. It was a celebration of the incredible women in our Fiscal family, held in honour of our founder, Kate Brown, inspired by one simple belief: helping you to live as well as you can, for as long as you live.

The day brought together three pillars: physical wellbeing, mental and emotional wellbeing, and financial wellbeing, because true peace of mind touches every part of a woman's life, not just her bank balance.

The ladies were led through a movement session by Nadine Vernon-Driscoll that reminded everyone that looking after your body doesn't need to be intense or intimidating, just consistent and fun. Candice Johnson CFP® led a meditation session, while phycologist, Jade Petersen addressed the importance of mental wellbeing. It set the tone for the whole day: honest conversations, warm connection, and taking time out to prioritise ourselves.

The Fiscal women, Tarryn Jansen Van Rensburg CFP®, and Lana Visser-Galant CFP® shared why women’s financial journeys are different, and how financial wellbeing brings peace of mind.

Thank you to every client and friend who joined us, to our incredible speakers, and to a team that poured so much heart into making this day special.

Here's to living well - in body, mind, and money. 🌸

Most South Africans approaching retirement want the same thing: a reliable monthly income that lets them maintain their lifestyle without worrying about running out of money.

For many, a living annuity is the preferred vehicle to get there as it offers flexibility. But that flexibility comes with a responsibility that's often underestimated - choosing a sustainable income level. Our planner, Johann Rossouw CFP®, breaks this down in his latest article:

Market volatility often grabs the headlines, but actually, inflation and capital erosion pose the greater threat to a sustainable retirement income.

For many young professionals, an entry-level salary feels like both freedom and pressure... the freedom to finally earn, but the pressure to make finances stretch. It all starts with a budget, but before you can budget properly, you need to know where your money actually goes – not where you think it goes. That means going through your bank statements line by line. In his latest article, our planner Johann Rossouw CFP® shares practical guidance on how to take that first step.

Our planner, Johann Rossouw, has an important message for younger South Africans following Youth Day this week: Time is the asset you only have when you're young.

For those who want to build wealth, an investor who stops contributing after just 10 years can end up with more than someone who contributes for 30 years. And this is actually what happens when a 10-year head start beats 30 years of consistent saving.
