Five years ago today, I was fighting for my life with the odds stacked against me.

Today, I am releasing a book I was never certain I would live long enough to write.

The Trading Mirror is about far more than financial markets. It is a story of ambition, success, failure, survival and the difficult lessons that only become visible when life forces us to look honestly at ourselves.

It explores the psychology behind our decisions, the emotional battles traders rarely speak about and the personal journey that shaped both the man and the trader I am today.

This book was not written from a place of perfection. It was written from experience. From mistakes made, battles fought and lessons earned.

This is my story. My testimony. And I hope that somewhere within its pages, you will recognise part of your own.

The Trading Mirror is here!

Final manuscript review session before we publish!

Sitting at a lovely wine estate, on a perfect red wine day, reading a book. Could be worse ways to spend the day.

It’s a beautiful day in Somerset West.

Taking a few minutes to enjoy the view before the week gets into full swing.

We spend so much time chasing the next goal that we sometimes forget to appreciate the journey. Progress isn’t always dramatic. More often than not, it’s the result of small decisions made consistently over time.

Keep showing up. Keep learning. Keep moving forward.

Have a great week, everyone.

I’ve spent years studying the markets.

What surprised me most wasn’t what I learnt about price.

It was what I learnt about myself.

Over time, I realised that almost every trader is looking in the wrong direction. We spend countless hours searching for the perfect strategy, indicator or system, when the biggest variable has been staring back at us all along.

That realisation became a book.

The Trading Mirror.

It’s not another “how to trade” book. It’s about the one thing every trader brings to every single position: themselves.

I’m looking forward to sharing it with you very soon.

I have a feeling it may challenge the way you think about trading.

Leadership lesson of the week?

Watch your kids.

Lilly has completely fallen in love with rugby. She doesn’t overthink it, she doesn’t worry about getting it wrong, she just picks up the ball and plays.

Somewhere along the way, as adults, we lose a bit of that.

She reminds me every day to be curious, be brave and enjoy the game.

I may be her dad, but she’s teaching me just as much as I’m teaching her.

Behind every ambitious man is not simply a partner who supports the dream, but someone who carries the weight of it with him.

The long days, the uncertainty and of course, the many sacrifices. The conversations that bring clarity when the road feels heavy.

This woman has been my strength, my peace, and my constant through every season.

Success means very little if you cannot share the journey with the person who believed in you before the results were visible.

Grateful for the life we are building, and even more grateful for who I get to build it with.

There’s something special about a winter fire.

In a world that moves fast, the simple things still matter most. Warmth, stillness, reflection, and time with the people who matter.

Sometimes the best moments are the simplest ones.
