A major milestone for township property development in Cape Town 🙌

Earlier this week, Sithembele Sidzumo and Kaya Properties broke ground on Ubuntu Terrace 1- the first TUHF-funded project to receive Affordable Rental Flats (ARF) approval under the City’s updated by-law framework.

With key stakeholders in attendance, including Deputy Mayor Eddie Andrews, this moment signals real momentum in unlocking township development.

For years, developers faced complex approvals and slow processes. Now, with the new by-law and added support, the path is becoming clearer - and more accessible.

Ubuntu Terrace 1 shows what’s possible:
