Over the next few weeks, the Saints Aquatics Centre comes alive with energy, talent, and community spirit as over 1000 young athletes from across Southern Africa compete in the Saints Water Polo Invitational, a celebration of excellence, resilience, and sportsmanship.

SAINTS WATER POLO INVITATIONAL 2025

Just one day to go until the 2025 edition of the Saints Water Polo Invitational gets under way with our Junior Section event - and we can't wait!

Boasting a great line up of participating schools from all over Southern Africa, the Saints Water Polo Invitational offers students a great opportunity to compete against the top water polo schools in the country and to do what they love. The 2025 edition of the Junior Invitational will play host to 32 teams, 512 players and coaches and over 1500 spectators who will watch 104 water polo games over the three days – and we can’t wait.

An event like this takes a huge amount of organisation and manpower and we are grateful in advance to in our Saints Family who have played a part in the planning of this year’s event. Thank you to all of the participants who will give it their all in the pools and the parents who come to offer their support. This weekend is all about sportsmanship and the camaraderie, both in and outside the pool.

Thank you to all of our vendors, suppliers, and particularly our headline sponsor, CIB and all of our sponsors for the essential part that they play in making tournaments like this happen. We’re proud to welcome Wilhelm von La Chevallerie, Managing Director at CIB and Chairman of SAUMA, as the guest judge for Episode 5 of The Insurance Apprentice 2025!

With over two decades of experience across insurance and reinsurance, Wilhelm brings technical precision, strategic leadership, and a deep passion for advancing underwriting in South Africa. His actuarial background, combined with executive roles across the industry, makes him a powerful voice on the judging panel.

As Chairman of the South African Underwriting Managers Association (SAUMA), Wilhelm continues to champion innovation and excellence in the sector.
