Worth it ba ang 121 pesos?

If you've seen my group coaching program, Build Your Budget...

Eh kung pwede ko namang gawin yan on my own."

Depende pa rin. Because thinking about it and actually getting results are two very different things.

Sabi ko nga sa live session inside MIP Powerhouse the other night, "Kung kaya mo nang mag-budget, pay off your debts, and fund your savings on your own, go do it! I'm genuinely looking forward to hearing your updates."

BUT if you know in your heart na hindi mo pa kaya mag-isa... that you've tried before pero wala pa ring nangyari — maybe what you need isn't more information. Maybe you need guidance and accountability na.

That's the very reason I created Build Your Budget. Ibang-iba ang journey kapag may kasabayan ka at may sense of accountabililty.
Now, going back to the question "worth it ba yung enrollment fee?"

Hindi ko yan masasagot on my own kasi syempre, biased ako. 😅

So I asked the first batch of students kung magkano ang worth ng BYB based on the results they got. (See images sa comments section)

Sa kanila nanggaling yan ha. Hindi sa akin.
But I want to make it fair. Syempre gusto ko may return on investment ka. That's why the price point is wayyy less than sa sinabi ng batch 1 students.

More than the tools and templates, the skills you build from this program won't ever be taken from you.

Kung gusto mo talaga mag-compute — grab a calculator and divide the enrollment fee by 66. That's your cost per day. (66 days kasi yung group coaching with live weekly calls.)

Then decide kung worth it or hindi. 😊

📣 BUILD YOUR BUDGET - Batch 2 is now open for enrollment!

BYB is a group coaching program and by the end of the 66 days, you’ll walk away with:

- a clearer understanding of where your money actually goes
- a budgeting system built around your real life
- awareness of your spending patterns and impulse triggers
- a savings system for emergencies and future goals
- less stress and panic around money decisions

Plus:
✅ 11 weekly live coaching sessions
✅ accountability group
✅ workbooks, trackers, and templates
✅ support from people going through the same journey

As announced sa Live last night, you can choose a bonus! Either,
💁‍♀️ Side Hustle Workshop + workbook
💁‍♀️ The Debt-Free Playbook + Toolkit

And personally, one thing I’m really excited about is helping people realize that budgeting doesn’t have to feel restrictive or shameful. It can actually feel empowering once you finally understand your habits and build a system that works for you.

🔥 Early Bird Rate at 40% off is ongoing. Limited to 8 slots only! After that, regular rate na at wala na ring bonus.

50/50 or dapat Husband ang provider ng lahat?
Dami ko nakikitang debate about that.

Fact: Money is one of the top sources of conflict among couples.

When I started working with couples to manage their finances, I noticed a pattern...

We can talk about budgeting systems, joint accounts, and investment strategies all day. But at the heart of every financially successful couple, there are really just two things that matter:

✨️Communication and Compromise✨️

Think about it:
- Even a joint account won't work if you can't talk about unexpected expenses or impulse purchases
- The perfect investment portfolio is useless if you can't agree on whether to be aggressive or conservative with your money
- Your debt payment plan won't succeed if you're hiding credit card bills from each other

The couples who thrive are not the ones with perfect Excel sheets or identical money mindsets.

They're the ones who learned to:

✅Have regular money dates where they discuss both wins and struggles (kahit na minsan nakakahiya)

✅Accept na okay lang if one is a saver and one is a spender - what matters is finding middle ground

✅Accept that "contributions" doesn't always have to be in the form of money. It could be in the form of taking care of the home, being a supportive wife/husband or simply.. di ka dagdag na sakit ng ulo. 😅

✅Create a budget that gives them both freedom like having their own "no questions asked" allowance, while still working towards shared goals (Ito ang pinaka favorite ng clients ko sa lahat!)

Remember: The strongest couples aren't the ones who never fight about money.

Magkakaroon talaga ng disagreements yan. But with these two C's, you'll know how to work through them together.
❤️

STOP comparing your setup and situation sa ibang couples kasi magkaka-iba naman kayo ng money personality at capacity. ok?!

📌P.S. Next week, I'll be introducing a framework to help you budget, pay off debts and start building your emergency fund. It's a live learning session happening inside MIP Powerhouse.

8 Money-saving habits I'm doing for over 5 years now

1️⃣ Weekly Financial Reset every Sunday.
10 minutes lang. I check my remaining cash, review my expenses, and plan for the next week. Masyado kasing matagal kapag monthly. At least pag weekly makakapag-adjust kaagad.

Yung month-end ko yun ang mas in depth because I review business finances na din.

2️⃣ Hard limit for delivery orders.
I set a ₱700 weekly cap for Grab/Foodpanda for myself. (Iba yung pag kasama si husband 😅)

Pag-ubos na, balik lutong bahay. Kasi yung delivery fees + service charges? 20-40% pa ng dagdag sa actual meal cost. That's a "convenience tax" most people don't notice.

3️⃣ 48-hour rule for non-essentials or add to cart lang and wait for double digit day sale before checking out.

Flash sales and deals are DESIGNED to make you buy now. Waiting kills about 80% of impulse purchases.

4️⃣ I audit my auto-renewing subscriptions.

Editing apps, games, cloud storage. That's quietly ₱3,000 to ₱5,000 a year without you noticing.

5️⃣ No postpaid plan sa mobile phone
I use prepaid eversince pero lalo pa akong naka save when I discovered GOMO. I only spend around ₱750 every 5 months. When I need to call, I can convert the GBs into x minutes of call or text. No expiry pa yan!

6️⃣ High-yield savings accounts for savings and sinking funds. Examples are GoTyme, Maya, UnoBank & CIMB.

Yung tipong tumutubo pa ng interest while I'm not spending it yet.

7️⃣ I use an expense tracking app, not a spreadsheet.

I used to use a spreadsheet pero hindi kasi accessible. The app tells me instantly if I'm still within budget sa isang category or overspent na. Less mental gymnastics. Real-time feedback changes your spending behavior.

8️⃣ Using a cashback app tuwing mag purchase sa Shopee, Lazada at Booking(.com). Almost ₱7,000 in rebates na ang na-withdraw ko. Ilang pindot lang naman gagawin para sa cashback so why not?!

Ikaw, do you have a tipid hack to share? 😀

📌 Next week, I'll be conducting a live learning session about managing your finances that is beyond the "tips & hacks" . I'll teach you a system so you can budget consistently and be able to pay off your debts. It's a free session inside MIP Powerhouse.

I got my first "M" in 2019. Looking back, I believe these are the 10 reasons why (and how) I'm able to do it.

1️⃣. Di ako nahihiyang magsabi na "wala yan sa budget ko" This is probably one of the most important things I learned.

Minsan may mag-yayaya: "Tara, food trip!" Pero kung wala talaga sa budget, I say no. I don't make excuses. I don't feel pressured (minsan lang haha).

And you know what? Real friends will understand.

2️⃣. Im a natural saver. That's just how we were raised. Sabi nga "I'm a frugal m@therf*cker" 😅

But seriously, growing up, ang lagi kong naririnig sa bahay: "Magtipid. Mag-ipon. Wag gastos nang gastos."

That mindset stuck with me. I always pause and ask myself: "Kailangan ko ba talaga to?"

Caveat though... But I was able to get out of it eventually.

3️⃣. I track and measure everything: income, daily and non-recurring expenses, net worth, savings, investments, as in lahat.

May expense tracker ako. May budget spreadsheet. May net worth tracker. You can't improve what you don't measure.

Tedious and time-consuming? Sa una lang. But eventually madali nalang because it becomes a part of your routine.

Kasi pag alam mo kung saan napupunta pera mo, you can make better decisions.

4️⃣. I have a dedicated budget for wants and impulse purchases.
Yes, may budget ako for "fun money." Kasi alam kong if I restrict myself completely, I'll just rebel and overspend eventually.

So may allocated amount ako monthly for wants - milk tea, new book, skincare, whatever. That's it. Tama na. Wait nalang next month.

5️⃣. I never spent on anything that I couldn't afford to pay in cash except for these two: camera and condo.

Pero everything else? If I can't pay cash, I don't buy it. Period. No credit card installments and "pay later" schemes.

6️⃣. Masipag akong maghanap ng extra income, pero I make sure I manage it well.

7️⃣. I plan ahead for big purchases or expenses. Kung alam kong may upcoming expense - birthday gift, gadget upgrade, vacation - I save for it in advance.

I create a "sinking fund" - little by little, naiiipon ko na yung pera bago pa dumating yung actual expense. So pag dumating na yung time na kailangan ko bayaran, ready na yung pera. Walang stress.

8️⃣. I'm not a breadwinner so I have the liberty on where to put my money. And I acknowledge this privilege.

Marami sa clients ko, breadwinner. Yung gusto nilang mag-save pero may parents to support, may siblings na nag-aaral, may family obligations. Pero take note ha - even if you're a breadwinner, possible pa rin mag-save. Just needs a different strategy and timeline.

If it comes back, great. If not, okay lang din. Protects both my wallet and my relationships.

🔟. I put a large percentage of my money on growth and learning kasi alam kong when I do the work, unlimited ang return.

I invested in books, courses, programs and coaching. Some people told me "Sayang pera mo dyan, pwede naman sa Youtube!"

Pero alam ko na investing in myself is the best investment I can ever make. Kasi yung knowledge na nakuha ko? Walang makakaagaw nun sakin. Yung skills na natutunan ko? Yun yung nag-level up sa career ko. Yung mindset shifts? Yun yung nag-transform ng relationship ko with money.

✨So ayun, hindi applicable sa lahat. Pero hopefully, may mapulot kang isa or dalawa na pwede mong subukan. Syempre, di ako perfect noh. I made a lot of mistakes too.

But my reasons for saving up are much bigger than those temptations. Saving 1M (or kung ano man yung target mo) isn't about one big decision.

It's about small, consistent choices. Day after day. Month after month. Or kahit years pa.

I answered this by asking a question:
Bakit 20% yung savings target?

A lot of people hear that number and immediately feel like may mali sa kanila because they can’t hit it.

In comprehensive financial planning, what we do is before mag-assign ng percentage or amount, we need to define your financial goals first.

That means the right savings rate for you could be less than 20%. It could also be more. Depende talaga on what’s actually happening in your life right now.

Think about it — a family with two kids, nagbabayad ng rent, may insurance, may loan, nagpapadala pa sa probinsya… their budget reality is completely different from a single professional with no dependents.

Same ₱50,000 na sahod. But 20% doesn’t mean the same thing for both of them.

Another thing…

For that specific post, may breakdown ng expenses nila. And most of the comments questioned yung tithes. So while we’re at it, kung may nagtatanong kung bakit malaki ang nakalaan mo for tithing or your faith, here’s my take:

Where you put your money boils down to your values.

Hindi ako nandito to judge anyone’s budget or tell them their priorities are wrong as long as there’s clarity and intention behind every decision. 👌

What I do with my clients is break down their expenses in detail. Para makita ang gap. To see where they can actually adjust based on THEIR goal, hindi based sa “rules” na nakikita lang inline. Because a budget that works is one that’s built around the realities of your life.

20% is a good benchmark but it’s not a strict rule that you should follow.

This is what I mean when I said na bubuo tayo ng Money Management SYSTEM inside the Build Your Budget Program (BYB)!

Kidding aside, what you saw is a realistic result when you start installing habits & systems. That’s the BYB coaching program lasts for 66 days. It takes time.
