Being able to afford proper dental treatment is really a privilege, noh?

I say this as someone who had an incident as a kid. Sobrang kakulitan ko noon that I damaged my front teeth.

My parents knew how much it affected my confidence, so they did their best to have my teeth fixed. And I’m grateful they did.

But dental treatments are expensive. Over the years, I also realized that not all treatments are created equal.

Some of the more affordable procedures I had before didn’t necessarily give me the best long-term results. Lalo na yung mga treatments covered by my HMO. In my experience, hindi rin talaga ganun kaganda yung outcome. 🙃

Fast forward to when I started working and earning my own money. I was finally able to afford more advanced dental treatment.

And I’m telling you, iba talaga yung difference when the work is done well. ✨

It’s not just about having a nice smile. It’s the confidence that comes with it.

As someone who creates content online, I don’t have to constantly think about how my teeth look when I’m speaking in front of a camera. And I imagine it’s the same for people whose jobs involve customer service, client meetings, or interacting with people every day.

When you’re not conscious about your smile, you can focus on other things.

I also learned that having good teeth isn’t always just a matter of proper hygiene or taking care of yourself. Sometimes, genetics, childhood accidents, and circumstances beyond your control play a role, too. And being able to afford the right dental treatment makes a huge difference.

That’s why I hope we take better care of our teeth while we can. And someday, pag nagka-anak na kami, we’ll make sure their dental health is something we prioritize early on.

And you know what? This is also one of those things that made me appreciate having financial capacity. We usually associate being financially stable with having investments, buying a house, or being able to travel.

But sometimes, it’s simply having enough money to afford the things you need. To choose better quality care. To address a problem without immediately worrying about where the money will come from.

Because financial stability isn’t just about the things you can buy. It’s also about the options you have when life happens.

Alagaan ang ngipin natin okiii? Kelan ka last nagpa clean? 👀

If you’re also working towards that kind of financial capacity, come join us inside MIP Powerhouse. Let’s get better at managing our money, together🫶

From ₱3.6M in debt to ₱28,000 extra every month. 💸

Meet “P.” She and her husband had over ₱3.6M in total debt. Ang bigat, noh?

Marami na sila sinubukan pero halos wala pa ring nababawas sa utang until she found me in Facebook. She started with my Playbook then decided to work with me 1:1 so we could build a strategy around her exact situation.

In just 3 months, ₱563,298.96 na ang nabayaran nila! 😱

At ngayon, may sumosobra na silang ₱28k every month na naiipon na nila. Ang galing noh?! (See screenshots of our convo!)

She’s just one of my clients who’s able to pay over ₱6.7 Million in debt, collectively. Hindi ko inexpect na aabot pala ng ganito kalaki!

The stories behind these numbers are all unique. Some were drowning in credit card debt from "essential" shopping sprees. Others had massive hospital bills they weren't prepared for. Many faced "investment" regrets, and a few were dealing with spending addictions.

The truth is, debt can happen to anyone. Kahit ikaw na disciplined at marunong mag-budget. Sometimes, it's one emergency, one bad investment, or a series of "small" decisions that suddenly pile up.

But here's what I've learned from helping all these clients: becoming debt-free means owning 100% of your choices again.

So, how does this transformation happen?

We always start with this proven framework:

STEP 1️⃣: FACE THE TRUTH
You need to accept that you have liabilities and you are responsible for them. Sounds simple, pero ito yung pinakamahirap emotionally. Stop blaming yourself or others. Be solution-oriented. Then list everything: magkano ba lahat, interest rates, due dates, lahat-lahat.

STEP 2️⃣: DETERMINE YOUR OPTIONS
Should you use the snowball method? Avalanche? Or a combination? Maybe debt consolidation or restructuring? Have you tried negotiating with your lenders? (Yes, pwede 'to especially with banks!)

STEP 3️⃣: FUND YOUR DEBT-FREE LIFE
How can you reduce expenses temporarily? What assets can you let go? Can you increase your income with rakets? And sometimes, kailangan mo ring tanggapin na you might need help from others. Let go of pride.

Napakarami talagang kailangan ng tulong. But in my observation, not everyone can do 1:1 coaching right away. Ang daming nag-reach out sakin and I kept thinking about how I could still help them...

✨ That's why I created The Debt-Free Playbook + Toolkit, a self-paced guide you can go through on your own time. Same one na pinagsimulan ni P.!

It's a comprehensive guide where I've compiled ALL the strategies. These 3 steps are expanded into my complete C.L.E.A.R. Method, with debt inventory worksheets, calculators, and debt negotiation templates.

You don't have to figure this out alone. You don't need to make the same mistakes others have made. There's a proven path, and I want to share it with you.

Iba iba talaga tayo ng "normal" noh?

For me, medyo mahal na ang ₱2k na dine out for 2 pax, except kung special occasion. Pero may clients ako na ang typical meal ay around ₱5k... minimum 2x a week pa yan.

I don't think twice about paying ₱50k for a training program. While others would think I'm crazy for spending that much just to learn, eh may internet naman daw. 😅

Meron din yung kahit baon na sa utang, hindi pa rin nila kayang mabuhay with less than 3 cars for a family of 4. May 3 yaya pa.

I've done hundreds of consultations already, pero fascinated pa rin ako every time I see firsthand how people actually live.

Aaminin ko, at first mahirap ihiwalay yung sarili kong "normal" sa reality ng clients ko. My middle-class lens would kick in before I could even stop it.

Over time, as a Financial Coach, I learned to put myself in their shoes. Kasi hindi ko trabaho ang mag-compare. What I need to do is understand where they're coming from.

It's not about whose normal is "right." It's about whether their normal is aligned with their values and capacity. Does it serve them well?

One of my favorite parts of this work is witnessing all these different flavors of lifestyle. Grateful that I get to keep discovering people, their stories, and ways to help them make their money work for the life they actually want. ✨

I DON’T BELIEVE IN THE 50-30-20 budgeting method. Here’s why…

During a party, may friend na nagtanong kung anong budgeting system yung tinuturo ko sa clients ko.

“Percentage-based ba? Like 50-30-20 rule?”
Sabi ko, “Hindi eh. I don’t use percentages at all.”

Surprised siya. Akala niya may specific formula ako na sinusundan.

Yes, may method ako. But I don’t dictate percentages kasi I’ve seen how it can actually do more harm than good. Let me explain.

Imagine you’re earning ₱25,000 a month. Tapos sasabihin ko sayo, “Save 20% ha!”

Sounds simple diba?

Pero what if you’re also supporting your parents? What if may siblings ka pang nag-aaral? What if ang rent mo plus basic expenses mo eh halos kalahati na ng sahod mo?

That 20% suddenly feels impossible.

And instead of feeling motivated to save, ano nangyayari? You feel frustrated. Pressured. Parang ang hirap mong tao kasi di mo magawa yung “simple” na 20%.

Eventually? You stop trying altogether. This is why my approach is different.

As a financial coach, I don’t start with formulas. I start with YOUR reality.

We look at:
👉 Where your money is actually going
👉 How much you’re really earning (and when it comes in)
👉 What your current money habits look like
👉 What’s causing the chaos in your finances
👉 Who else is involved?

Once we clearly see that reality?

That’s when we make changes customized to YOUR situation, not some generic percentage.
Because here’s what I’ve learned after working with almost 90+ clients:

✨Most of the time, it’s not that people are “bad with money.” The real issue is lack of awareness.

Things feel chaotic. You feel out of control financially. Hindi ka makasave. Parang laging kulang ang pera.

But it’s not because you’re irresponsible.
It’s because you don’t really know what’s happening with your money in the first place.
Walang clarity. Walang sistema. Everything just feels… overwhelming and unpredictable.

At dahil busy ka sa work, kaskas dito, kaskas doon. “Bahala na” mindset yung nangyayari kasi may darating naman na income eventually.

Pero may lingering na guilt, right?

So before you beat yourself up for not hitting that perfect 20% savings rate?

Ask yourself: Do I even know what’s happening witg my income and expenses?

Because you can’t fix what you can’t see.

📌 If you want help getting that clarity and creating a money management system that actually works for YOUR life (not some generic formula), I’m opening slots for 1-on-1 consultation this Oct. Comment “CONSULT” below and I’ll send you the details.

Before I submitted my resignation letter, I had this 3-month period where I practiced how I would live kung nag-resign na ako.

I knew it would be difficult for me to financially transition cold turkey from having a regular salary to having an unpredictable income from the business.

So I created a *tinipid na budget*. Walang extracurricular activities, wala munang travel, mga ganyan.

It was difficult, but I was able to do it.

Then in May 2024, I submitted my resignation letter.

Right after that, pinigilan ko yung sarili ko na gumastos ng kung ano-ano. Because in my head, “I need to spend less” to make the business work without worrying about my personal money.

Still, di pa rin naging ganun kadali. The business was not doing as well as I expected now that I was doing it full-time. 😅

I made adjustments but what I noticed is things changed when I started spending.

No, hindi yung extravagant na spending ha. I just tried to take on some hobbies. And of course, kahit hobbies 'yan, may pera involved.

So I tried dancing and freediving. I started booking flights again. ✈️

I even risked some of my savings for business trainings.

And surprisingly, when I started spending money on the things I personally enjoy... dun mas nag-thrive yung business.

Nakakatawang isipin. Nung sobrang tinitipid ko yung sarili ko, saka naman walang pumapasok na pera.

Then I remembered a passage from the book “Happy Money”. Sabi dun, money needs to flow. That's why it's called currency. Current. It needs to flow, right?

Sinabi din dun na our spending should go to the things you value, love, and enjoy. Para iikot siya at babalik sa'yo.

That's when it hit me. Oo nga, noh? I shouldn't stop myself just for the sake of makapagtipid, makapag-ipon, or makapagbawas ng expenses.

⚠️ Disclaimer: I don't want you to use this as an excuse para gumastos nang gumastos. This is not about spending luxuriously. Everything should be done moderately. Yung sakto lang, na hindi mo feel na kinakawawa mo yung sarili mo.

Even with my clients who are in debt, I still encourage them to set aside a portion of their income for enjoyment and fun.

Kasi hindi ibig sabihin na pag may utang ka, wala ka nang karapatang mag-enjoy sa buhay.

Ikaw, what's something you've been stopping yourself from spending on, but you know it will make your life full and rich?

Kinakabahan ka ba tuwing tumatawag ang collections?

Gets. Their urgency is designed to make you feel like wala kang choice.

But what most people don’t know is… you have more control than you think.

There’s room to negotiate. There are rules on how they can contact you. And there’s a smarter way to pay than just giving in to whatever amount they say.

You’re not completely helpless. 😉
