If you have bought or refinanced in the last 3 years you should take a look at this graph. If you used FHA financing or have a conventional mortgage with mortgage insurance (MI) you may be surprised to find out you may be able to lower your rate and MI, or get rid of our mortgage insurance altogether. If you did not put 20% down when you bought your home, your current value could be close to the amount you need to drastically lower your payments.
