Hello Everyone,
I hope you are doing well. I have some important news I'd like to share with you today.
We all know that 2023 is the year of changes, from Desjardins Financial Security Investments to PEAK Investment Services. Now, I have a new change before I go into that.
As one of two independent Deaf advisors in Canada, I do encounter more challenges and obstacles than my colleagues, but that did not stop me from achieving Rising Star 2021 from Wealth Professional, a financial advisor news, Rookie of the Year from Ontario Central Region of Desjardins Financial Security Independent Network, and Qualifying Member of Million Dollar Round Table in 2022. Thank you all for your endless support since May 2020.
The financial industry does not support young advisors or advisors who are part of small communities like mine in the Deaf community. As many of you know, I am commission-based, which means I must grow my business size to increase my income and challenges that the Deaf community's socioeconomic status (income, education, occupation, and wealth) is below the average. That means I need more clients to match my colleagues' income level. It is challenging to maintain because I can't give my full attention to 200-400+ clients annually, if not more while maintaining my personal life goals.
On another note, the financial industry's regulator does restrict many activities that I wish to participate in the community, such as volunteering, starting up another business, and more. Most of those activities intend to impact my community, the Deaf community. I cannot endure that for the next 30-40 years of my career, and I cannot pursue my other passions or make more impacts on the Deaf community outside the financial industry.
After three years and five months as a Mutual Fund Representative, it's time for me to embark on a new chapter in my career after December 31, 2023. But I can assure you that I am still maintaining my life insurance license, meaning I am still selling life insurance, health insurance, disability insurance, critical illness insurance, and more. More information will come out later, including my new contact information. Not only that, but I will still be doing income tax returns as well.
This decision was not made lightly. Serving as your Mutual Fund Representative has been an absolute honour, and I am deeply grateful for your trust and support. You may wonder what is next: I will leave the industry on December 31, 2023.
You will be working with a new advisor for all of you with mutual funds and GICs. I am excited to introduce you to Mark Faria, who can sign and has a Deaf sister. Mark has a wealth of experience in the financial industry and a commitment to providing you with the same high level of service you've come to expect. Please pay attention to your email from Mark Faria or me to schedule a meeting in the coming months to assist with a smooth transition.
Rest assured; I'll work closely with Mark during this transition to ensure a seamless handover. Your financial goals and interests remain our top priority. Change can be challenging but brings new opportunities and fresh perspectives. I have complete confidence in Mark and his ability to guide you toward a prosperous financial future.
If you have any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to email me.
Thank you for your trust and support. I appreciate your understanding during this transition. My commitment to your financial well-being remains unwavering.
