2-1 ADA (Air Defense Artillery)

Last week, the 2-1 ADA BN had a successful event known as Guardian Day. This day commenced with a group run that fostered camaraderie, followed by engaging activities designed to enhance teamwork among the soldiers, from Uniform Inspections to ensure readiness to PAI checks for accountability. The event wrapped up with a light-hearted pie-in-the-face fundraiser, providing an excellent opportunity for soldiers to have fun while also building connections with their leaders and help raise money for the Battalion Ball.

This week, Soldiers from Alpha, Bravo, Delta, Echo and HHB participated in the rigorous "Best Squad" competition held by the 2nd Battalion, 1st Air Defense Artillery regiment. Each unit selected their top 4-5 Soldiers to compete across a series of military proficiency events, with the objective of earning the title of "Best Squad."

The competition required units to function cohesively to maximize their scores in various stations, which included a comprehensive written exam, an evaluation of gear readiness per Guardian standards, ex*****on of the Army Combat Fitness Test, a demanding 12-mile ruck march, land navigation tasks, among other assessments. Each event was designed to test a range of soldiering skills and operational readiness, ultimately showcasing the tactical abilities and teamwork of the participating units.

Yesterday morning, Command Sergeant Major Hart from the 94th AAMDC CSM, Seadragon 7 visited the Non-Commissioned Officers of the 2nd Battalion, 1st Air Defense Artillery during their Physical Training session. He actively participated in a range of strenuous exercises alongside the NCOs, who demonstrated their commitment and teamwork throughout the demanding workout. CSM Hart seized the opportunity to engage with the team, providing encouragement regarding their progress toward mission readiness before concluding the visit with a group photo alongside the leaders. This visit underscored his appreciation for the well-organized event and recognized the significant role of the NCOs within the Battalion.

Last week, the 2nd Battalion, 1st Air Defense held an exciting and competitive event known as the Guardian Challenge, designed to identify the next esteemed carrier of the Guardian Sword. This prestigious sword symbolizes excellence and leadership within the battalion. The event featured a series of rigorous challenges that tested the mettle of the battalion's most skilled Non-Commissioned Officers and Officers from each batteries. Participants engaged in a range of demanding activities, showcasing their physical stamina. Echo Battery emerged victorious, demonstrating physical readiness throughout the event. Congratulations to Echo Battery on this significant achievement!

In addition to the accomplishment, Battalion Coins were awarded and presented to individuals SSG Prebot, SSG Prescott, SGT Jablonski, SGT Peredo, SGT Henderson, SPC Reyes, SPC Diaz, PFC Jones, PFC Canela, and PFC Smith.
