VFSC AND DEPARTMENT OF INDUSTRY STRENGTHEN PARTNERSHIP TO SUPPORT VANUATU BUSINESSES
The Vanuatu Financial Services Commission (VFSC) and the Department of Industry (DoI) have strengthened their partnership through the signing of a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) on 29 September 2026, during the Vanuatu Made Tradeshow at Independence Park, Port Vila.
The agreement establishes a framework for closer cooperation between the two agencies, particularly in supporting business registration, formalisation, information sharing, regulatory compliance and public awareness.
Under the partnership, VFSC and the Department of Industry will work together to make it easier for entrepreneurs and businesses to understand and navigate registration and regulatory requirements. This includes coordinating business name and company registration services, assisting with relevant permits, providing guidance to businesses, and conducting joint awareness, training and marketing activities.
The agreement also strengthens cooperation in the exchange of information, including information relevant to compliance, investigations and efforts to combat money laundering, terrorism financing and other serious offences, with appropriate confidentiality safeguards.
The signing took place alongside the Vanuatu Made Tradeshow 2026, which is being held on 29–30 September at Independence Park and brings together producers, MSMEs and stakeholders from across Vanuatu to showcase locally made products and promote local enterprise.
The partnership reflects a shared commitment to supporting business formalisation, strengthening compliance and creating a more accessible environment for Vanuatu's entrepreneurs and local industries.
