Pacific Private Bank turns 29 today!
On this milestone, we chose to celebrate not by ourselves, but with the community that has stood by us.
We are proud to have donated three (3) sewing machines and one (1) cooking stove to the Pango Presbyterian Women's
Missionary Union (PWMU) — a group of dedicated women at the heart of the Pango community.
This gesture carries a personal meaning for our team. When the earthquake struck Vanuatu on 17 December 2024, it was the Pango community roads that gave us access to our temporary satellite office — allowing Pacific Private Bank to continue serving its clients through one of the most difficult periods in our history. For nearly nine months, until we returned to our original office in town in September 2025, that community quietly made our operations possible. We have not forgotten that.
But this donation is also about the future. According to the Vanuatu Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI), 70% of fully female-owned businesses expect their profits to decrease in the coming months, with serious concerns around food security and wellbeing. We believe that equipping women with the tools to sew and to cook is an investment that reaches far beyond the mammas — it means additional income, food on the table, and children, who arrive at school ready to learn.
And we are putting our money where our mouth is — Pacific Private Bank will be the first client to commission the PWMU to sew our team's work uniforms. We cannot wait to try them!
To the women of PWMU: thank you for your resilience, your warmth, and your welcome. It was an honour to be with you today.
Happy 29th birthday, Pacific Private Bank. Here is to many more years of international banking!
