𝐒𝐮𝐜𝐜𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐟𝐮𝐥 𝐈𝐧𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝟔𝟐𝟏𝟑𝐖 𝐒𝐨𝐥𝐚𝐫 𝐒𝐲𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐦 𝐚𝐭 𝐌𝐚𝐤𝐢𝐫𝐚/𝐌𝐚𝐭𝐚𝐬𝐨 𝐀𝐫𝐞𝐚 𝐂𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐜𝐢𝐥

We are pleased to announce the successful installation of a 6213W solar power system at the Makira/Mataso Area Council house. This system is designed to power two buildings and support various essential equipment, including one printer, one ID printer, one laminating machine, one rice cooker, one electric teapot, one deep freezer, one VSAT system, three fans, and five lights.

The solar system was transported to the site last year, and installation was completed this year following the completion of the building. Today, we are grateful to witness the full commissioning of the system, which was supplied and installed by PCS Limited.

This project marks a significant milestone and will greatly enhance service delivery within the Makira/Mataso community on Makira Island, providing reliable and sustainable energy for daily operations.

The Ministry of Climate Change, through the National Green Energy Fund, has handed over 300 solar lights to the Port Vila City Council.

According to the National Green Energy Fund (NGEF), the total cost of the solar lights is approximately VT17 million.

The Port Vila City Council (PVCC) stated that the solar lights will be installed in public areas that currently do not have access to electricity services provided by UNELCO.

The Council said the project is expected to improve lighting in communities around Port Vila and help reduce criminal and anti-social activities in poorly lit areas.

The handover ceremony took place this afternoon in Port Vila as part of the celebrations marking Port Vila Day. This year's theme is: "Yumi Rebuild Tugeta mo Grow Strong".

This week, the solar system for Yetap Primary School was loaded onto the Pierre Brunet shipping vessel for transport to Tanna Island. A massive thank you to the eTech Vanuatu team for transporting the system from the warehouse to the wharf.

The system was supplied and installed by eTech Vanuatu. It will electrify 𝟗 𝐛𝐮𝐢𝐥𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐬𝐮𝐩𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭 𝟒𝟒 𝐥𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐬, 𝟖 𝐥𝐚𝐩𝐭𝐨𝐩𝐬, 𝟐 𝐩𝐡𝐨𝐭𝐨𝐜𝐨𝐩𝐲 𝐦𝐚𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐬, 𝟏 𝐬𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝 𝐬𝐲𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐦, 𝟏 𝐓𝐕 𝐬𝐜𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐧, 𝟒 𝐝𝐞𝐬𝐤𝐭𝐨𝐩 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐮𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐬, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝟏 𝐥𝐚𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐦𝐚𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐞.

NGEF always oversizes its solar systems by 10% to account for Vanuatu’s weather conditions, with a daily energy capacity of 𝟕,𝟏𝟎𝟎 𝐖𝐡.

The NGEF technical team, together with a PCS technician, has prepared a 2204Wh Li AC Solar Home System (SHS), including a 198L deep freezer, for shipment by Torba 1 to South-East Ambrym.

The SHS system details include: 2 x 500W Trina solar panels, a BSL 48/170E lithium battery, a Victron 48/1200W inverter, a 150/35A MPPT controller, and all necessary cabling.

The system is supplied and installed by Power and Communication Solutions (PCS), a registered solar vendor of the National Green Energy Fund (NGEF).

This SHS is for Samson Andrew, a teacher who applied through the NGEF Public Servants Loan product to electrify his home using renewable energy technology. The system will power one building and support a deep freezer and a laptop.
