Yes, there is. For the pension refund, you have to do it within 2 years since you left Japan, and for the tax refund you have to do it within 5 years since you left Japan.

Hi everyone, especially trainees in Japan!

Don't you think like "procedure of pension refund is complicated..." or "Why I have to send lots of physical documents which really takes cost"..

Actually, that is not correct. And if you use our pension refund service things will get better.

What we want you to do is only 3 things.
1. Apply on our platform via:

Then waiting for our staffs to connect you.

2. Submit necessary documents
After having introduction from our staffs, you will submit documents to us ONLINE via email, or messenger.

3. Inform us when you get first-time refund
After sending documents to us and proceeding, you will wait to receive the pension. At that timing, please inform us so we can proceed the next step on tax refund.

What are the necessary documents to submit for pension refund?
It is:
+ Passport
+ Pension notebook (Nenkin Techo)
+ Residence Card (Please remember to remove your residence right in Japan before you return to your country)
+ Certificate of bank account.
Then, all you have to do is to capture those information and send it to us.

These days, many Japanese companies try to expand into other foreign countries. Before they start to make branches in foreign countries, some of these companies want to have opinions for their service or products from foreigners who are from the countries they consider to advance into.

The people who used to work in Japan may claim Lump-sum Withdrawal Payments when you satisfy all conditions as below.

You need to file the application for this procedure within 2 years after the date you no longer have a registered address in Japan and you are no longer covered by the National Pension, the Employees’ Pension Insurance or the Mutual Aid systems.

To be more specific:
① You are non-Japanese.
② You have coverage periods under the Employees' Pension Insurance system for 6 months or more.
③ You no longer have a address in Japan registered to the municipal office.
④ You have never been entitled to Japanese public pension benefits including Disability Allowance.
