Effective 1 June 2026, Malaysia's PERKESO is launching LINDUNG 24 JAM, expanding SOCSO coverage beyond workplace accidents to protect employees 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Here's what employers need to know:
• A new mandatory employee-only contribution will be deducted through payroll — employer SOCSO rate of 1.75% remains unchanged
• Contributions are phased: 0.75% (Phase 1, first two years), 1.0% (Phase 2, next three years), and 1.25% (Phase 3, from year six onwards)
• Applicable to all eligible SOCSO contributors under the Employees' Social Security Act 1969, including foreign workers, with no age limit while employed

Malaysia's Employees Provident Fund (EPF) has introduced three new initiatives to strengthen retirement security for contributors:
• Retirement Goal Calculator — a new digital tool accessible via the KWSP i-Akaun app to help members estimate future savings needs, identify gaps, and assess retirement readiness
• i-Legasi — allows members aged 55 and above to transfer a portion of their EPF savings to the accounts of immediate family members (spouses or children), provided savings exceed the Adequate Savings level of RM650,000
• i-Emas — a rebranding of the existing Age 55/60 monthly withdrawal option, enabling members to receive automated monthly payouts instead of a lump sum, while remaining balances continue earning annual dividends
