As we at TIBL rush towards our 30th anniversary, on September 14th 2020, we realise just how many achievements we have made in our first 30 years! Here are just a few of them

Vincentians have certainly learned not to just buy the cheapest insurance, and to think about coverage/ strength/ and reputation before deciding

And Vincentians are delighted with our tendering process, which gets them best-value for their money

You have told us how much you appreciate all those free extensions which you didn’t know were available especially getting landslippage cover for your buildings, and getting “natural disasters” and cover on ferries, for your vehicles !!

And what about the Group Medical coverage which our Over 65’s can now get!

And the Free Risk Management advice which can save you from paying for Insurance you might not need?

Yes but don’t forget all that FREE Claims help, if you have to make a claim. Just imagine how much that help could cost you, if TIBL didn’t give it free??

By The Way, did you know that it was TIBL who started The Insurance Institute of SVG 23 years ago In 1997? Since then, professional standards for insurance in SVG have been rising, and dozens of Vincentians have been passing tough insurance exams & getting professional qualifications

and there’s so much more to tell, but you can see why TIBL are really happy with our FIRST 30 years as PIONEERS of Free, Independent, Professional Insurance Broking in SVG

Yes, HELP US to make TIBL’s NEXT 30 years Even Better

Does your Business or home policy cover looting?

Here’s the Answer:

1. Firstly No. Any standard policy does NOT include looting. Looting means stealing from a place which has been damaged, without having to break into the place.

2. If you have a Burglary Policy for your Business, or a Home Policy including Burglary, you don’t get Looting Cover unless the thieves have to break-in!

3. If you Don’t have Burglar Cover, then you are not covered for theft, whether break in or walk in after the building is damaged.

4. The Good News is that at The Insurance Brokers Ltd. we know how to get this coverage, if you really need it.

Many Businesses may wish this cover depending on the type of Stock. Groceries are likely to be a target or an electronics store, where Greed is greater than Need.

Talk to us at The Insurance Brokers Limited and we’ll be delighted to help you, as always.

Travel insurance is one that we often overlook but can be your best means of support when you decide to travel.
Did you know that travel insurance with the right coverage can assist you with medical payments in the event that you get ill or injured and have to be taken to the hospital? It can also cover for cancellations of flights and Lost or stolen baggage. In some cases if bad weather or other covered reasons delay your flight, you can be reimbursed for reasonable additional accommodations and travel expenses until your flight is possible.
Travel Insurance is a safety tool. This means that if anything does happen while you are travelling you would not have a huge bill that would leave you in a bind for cash. Some will even say that it can save your life after receiving a medical bill while travelling.
So when you are planning on your next vacation keep this in mind.
Not Many Insurance companies in SVG offer Travel Insurance, so come talk to us first at The Insurance Brokers Ltd. and we can guide you.

Do you have valuable pieces of jewelry that you haven’t listed in your contents insurance?
Are you aware that unless specified under your homeowners contents insurance contract, that you would only get up to a limited amount. One company policy states that it would pay up to 10% of the sum insured or $2,500 whichever is less.
This is not only for jewelry but all your contents there are limits and they vary with each item. So it’s always best to make a list and get the present value for valuables.
Things you’ll need to remember:
In the event of a claim insurers may offer cash, a replacement, vouchers, or repair.
Overvaluing your valuables is likely to result in a higher premium.
You'll have to pay the excess fee if you make a claim.
Insurance companies will only pay out the listed value of an item. So if your engagement ring has increased in value and you haven't updated your insurance policy, you won't be covered for its current value.
Check the single item limit on your policy to make sure you've got the right amount of cover in place.
The Insurance Brokers Staff is here to make sure that you are getting Value for price.

Today let’s talk about the importance of having Employer’s Liability Insurance as a contractor.
A few days ago, there was an incident which involved a wall falling on an individual who was fatally injured. This brought back memories of a previous incident where another gentleman fell from a tree after being electrocuted. Now you may be saying that you can’t see the link but let me shed some light on it.
Both of these gentlemen where working for a contractor that was hired by someone else/owner. While it may be necessary for that person/owner to get insurance on whatever the contract is, some small contractors may not see the need to cover their employees.
In our little country, while it may be popular by some small businessmen to conserve costs all around in order to make a profit, here is the case where you are now faced with an employee dying. The family they had are now without that income and don’t know where to turn. These things can turn ugly real fast and the blame game will arise, followed by legal action.
Employer’s Liability insurance can assist contractors facing this problem and is designed to protect the employer from any legal liability that may arise, as a result of injury to an employee on the job. This type of policy is easy to arrange at an affordable price and is invaluable to the contractor when arranging contract works policies.
For more information on this type of cover call, email or even visit our office, at The Insurance Brokers Ltd. where we can better assist you with all your insurance needs.
Don’t put off tomorrow what you can do today.
So now you know.

Today let’s talk about why it is important to report motor accidents.

Don’t you sometimes feel like accidents happen at the worst possible time? Some might say it’s just a minor dent I can fix it myself or it’d not worth reporting. But did you know that all accidents whether big or small must be reported and we advise all our clients to do just that. We at the Insurance Brokers are here to help so you can go on with doing what you do best while we do what we do best.

There would of course be a Form Known as “Motor Accident Reporting Claim Form” where the Insured’s name, Details of the driver, a statement of the accident, damage to vehicle, property or persons involved must be given. It must be signed by both the driver and the Insured. A copy of the drivers driver’s License must also be attached to the form. On the Form you would state whether you are making a claim or just notifying the Insurance Company.

Reporting accident as soon as possible gives the Insurance Company time to investigate especially in cases where nobody wants to accept responsibility. As time passes evidence is lost.
