- The Conversation Most Families Avoid -

Sometimes the most loving conversations are the hardest ones to start.

Not because families don’t care…
But because talking about aging, illness, or death can feel uncomfortable.

The truth is: final wishes planning is less about death and more about reducing confusion, stress, and guesswork for the people we love.

You don’t have to figure everything out today.
Just start the conversation.

Even one simple question can open the door:
“What would be important to you if something unexpected happened?”

Most people don’t realize that life insurance policies usually include something called a “contestability period” during the first 2 years.

That doesn’t mean the policy won’t pay.
It simply means the insurance company can review the application more closely if the insured passes away during that time.

The important lesson:
Be honest and accurate when applying for coverage.

Life insurance is designed to protect the people you love. Making sure the information is complete and truthful helps prevent unnecessary stress for your family later on.

A good policy isn’t just about having coverage…
it’s about having peace of mind. ❤️

Please share the location of your life insurance policies with someone you trust.

One of the most overlooked parts of estate planning isn’t just having the documents… it’s making sure the right people know where they are.

I’ve seen situations where families spent weeks searching for:
• Wills
• Power of Attorney documents
• Living Wills
• Life insurance policies
• Funeral instructions
• Bank information

During an already emotional time, not knowing where these important documents are located can create unnecessary stress, confusion, and even family conflict.

A simple conversation today can make a difficult season much easier tomorrow.

Consider asking yourself:
✔️ Do I know where my important documents are?
✔️ Does someone I trust know where they are?
✔️ Are they organized and accessible in an emergency?

Peace of mind is not just about preparation — it’s also about communication.

This week, I want to open an honest conversation about the role life insurance plays—not just when things go right, but also when planning wasn’t in place. Join me as I share real (anonymous) stories so we can all reflect on ensuring peace of mind for our loved ones.

One common misconception is that cremation means there shouldn’t be a service or gathering.

But ceremony still matters.

Whether someone chooses burial or cremation, families often still need:
• connection
• remembrance
• support
• a moment to honor a life

Healing doesn’t come from the method of disposition alone.

It often comes from being together, sharing memories, and acknowledging loss.

Funeral homes help families create those meaningful moments in many different ways.

Funeral Homes must provide you with a General Price List upon request.

05/20/2026

Many families feel uncomfortable asking funeral homes about pricing.

But asking questions about cost is not disrespectful—it’s responsible.

Funeral professionals understand that families want clarity, options, and peace of mind before making decisions.

Open conversations help reduce confusion and regret later.

A good funeral home should help families feel informed, not pressured.

During emotional moments, clarity matters. 🤍

When we lose a loved one, we should first pause & not make emotional decisions even though it's an emotional time.
