Yuma Studio

Yuma Studio Mixing and mastering service. Its always been, that it is important to be talented to make music. Not any more. easy fix.

But to be able to stand out from the rest, you needed a awsome production studio and alot of money. Yuma studio provides tallent to help you the artest stand out from the rest. Lets go over an interesting session that we have done in the past. This group of 5 guys recorded this grate sounding song but neede some tweeking, the drummer played fantastis but his $500.00 drum set was lacking the proper

mic-ing so with our knoledge and tallent, we were able to swap his drums out with a nice $5,000.00 luwig drum set with out having him to pic up sticks or re record a single beat. we could even ajust his tempo and how hard or soft the strikes in the song. the guitars sounded fine just needed a little eq ing, but the base was in need of help, some places he played holding the note but in trying to keep up with the fast tempo he lacked dooing this through the whole song, so we added a plug in that did it fo him. Now all sounded good enough to start mastering. so we eq, compressed and limited and then got the vocals to sit on the mix insted of in the mix and checked all music sorces so the song could be played from any music device. In a big studio it would have cost mega bucks, but with us they payed $100.00. They have won battle of the bands 3 times and have 2 albums out.

Ever wounder why protools only records up to 96khz insted of 192khz? me too. well after checking into it. the industry standard protools tdm systems witch are in the big studios do record up to 192khz but no one ever realy records that high. well i gues we should back up a little. back in the day when 4, 8, 16 and 24 track real to reals were around. the faster the speed the more quality you got. the same aplays to todays recorders. cd is 44.1 dvd is 48 to 96khz hidef video and sound is 96 to 192khz. so why do the big studios still not record the better quality? well for one thing the computer and equipment are still not there enough to record without having huge hard drives that are fast enough. lets face it high end studio monitors are rated at 20 to 25khz. plus if you were to record a 6 to 7 person group you would need a crap load of hard drive space and a supper fast prossessor. I do like the quality that 192 produces in my recordings but i dont record full albums just small projects. Even the newest movie 10.1 surround sound was recorded at 96khz. So should you record at 192? well if you can go for it but you will hear from others that its over kill. One day we will but not this year or the next 10 years.

Thinking of comming out of the closte with your vocals? Well you might be interested to know a closet is a grate place to record vocals its small tight and keeps the vocals clean. You can always have the reverb piped through the head phones so your singer dosnt freek out. Then after you got the vocal track down. Solo it and just add a touch of reverb just enough to bearly hear it and then you should have that pro sounding song like it was done in the studio. :-)

Recording tip of the day!

Need a pop filter to lay down som lyrics?
Simple solution... take a metal cloth hanger and make a circle.
Finde a knee high or panty hose and cut out the lower thigh just before the ankle and put it over the hanger.
Now have your pop filter. :)
