🏆 Happy National Coaches Day! 🏆

When we hear the word coach, we often think of someone on the sidelines with a whistle and a clipboard. But some of the most important coaches in our lives never step onto a field or court.

A coach can be a teacher, neighbor, family friend, coworker, mentor—or simply an adult who takes the time to listen, encourage, challenge, and guide someone in the right direction.

I’ve seen this firsthand with my own children. Over the years, there have been adults they respected and looked up to who offered advice, encouragement, or simply set a good example. Those people have helped “coach” my kids through life, sometimes making a much bigger difference than they probably ever realized.

Especially when it comes to our youth, never underestimate the impact you can have. A few encouraging words, taking an interest, or simply being someone they can trust may stick with a young person for years.

So today, thank you to all the coaches—on the field and off—who help others become better versions of themselves. ❤️

You may be coaching someone without even knowing it.

Before becoming an insurance agent, I spent 20 years as a high school science teacher, so this day will always mean something special to me.

Teaching is one of the most rewarding jobs out there—but it can also be one of the most challenging. I know firsthand how much time, energy, patience, and heart teachers pour into their students every single day.

Today, take a moment to thank a teacher who made a difference in your life, or send a quick note to your child’s teachers to let them know their hard work is appreciated. Sometimes a few kind words can mean more than you realize.

To all the teachers out there: thank you for showing up, encouraging your students, and making a difference—even on the really tough days. 💙

🌎✌️ Happy World Peace Day!

World peace… apparently, we’re still working on that one. 😬

With so much conflict and war happening around the world, today feels like an especially important reminder that peace has to start somewhere.

Most of us can't negotiate a ceasefire, settle an international dispute, or convince the entire world to get along. (Some days, getting everyone in the same group text to agree is challenging enough. 😂)

But we can control how we treat the people around us.

Be kind to someone you disagree with. Listen a little longer. Give someone the benefit of the doubt. Help a neighbor. Forgive something small. And maybe—just for today—don't argue with strangers in the Facebook comments. 😉

Those things may not create world peace overnight, but imagine what could happen if a few billion of us tried them at the same time.

Here's hoping for a world with a little less fighting, a little more understanding, and a whole lot more peace. ❤️🌎✌️

🚗 Selling Your Vehicle? Don’t Cancel Your Coverage Too Quickly!

Here’s something many people don’t realize: a gap in your coverage history can potentially cost you money.

Companies may look at how long you’ve maintained continuous coverage when determining your rate. Even a short lapse—such as when you sell a vehicle and plan to go without one for a while—can sometimes result in higher costs when you need coverage again.

We recently had a customer sell her vehicle and cancel her policy because she didn’t expect to replace it anytime soon. Just a week later, her plans changed and she needed coverage again. Unfortunately, that short break affected the options and pricing available to her.

That’s why when someone calls our office to cancel after selling a vehicle, you may hear us ask:

👉 Are you planning to replace the vehicle?
👉 How soon do you think you’ll purchase another one?
👉 Will you still be driving another vehicle?
👉 Is there another option that makes sense in the meantime?

We’re not trying to talk you out of canceling something you don’t need. We simply want to make sure you understand how today’s choice could affect what you pay tomorrow.

In general, maintaining a consistent coverage history and avoiding incidents can help put you in a better position for favorable rates over time.
