Construction will start soon on the exterior of our beach house project but first we’re trying out a few options with the use of ChatGPT. The goal is to improve this 2008 construction to create the look and feel of an authentic Pawleys Island creek house, closer to the house that was originally on the site since the 1930s.

The top photo shows one side of the house as it is now - great bones but boring, dull design. The bottom photo shows the changes to come:

* Change exterior color to a clean, warm white
* Add shutters - some Bahama, some hinged swinging, all in a muted dark green
* Add a flat trim band around all windows
* Add a wide trim band around the base of house
* Add louvered wall, painted green, under the house on street side

Check back for more changes to this vacation house as we remodel, furnish and “age” it for an authentic “Old Pawleys” beach house vibe.

A little friendly competition never hurt. Associates from our Tallahassee and South Georgia regions recently traded the office for an afternoon of teamwork, connection and plenty of fun on the kickball field. We’ll leave the final score out of it. 😏

It’s time to install siding on the newly enclosed porch at our beach house project! We’re also adding a flat trim around all windows to add more depth and authenticity to the exterior.

Other changes were replacing the existing double-hung windows upstairs with casement windows for code-compliant egress.

We’re now deciding on the white paint color for the siding along with the dark trim color we’ll use on shutters, doors and the louvered privacy walls to be added to the bottom level.
