📢 Medicare Update: New GLP-1 Bridge Program Begins July 1, 2026

Starting July 1, 2026, a temporary program called the Medicare GLP-1 Bridge will provide limited coverage for certain GLP-1 weight loss medications to eligible Medicare beneficiaries.

This new program is designed to help bridge the gap in access to these medications while Medicare continues to evaluate long-term coverage options.

If you've been wondering whether Medicare may help cover GLP-1 medications used for weight management, this is important news that could affect you.

✅ Eligibility requirements will apply.
✅ Not all GLP-1 medications may be included.
✅ Must be enrolled in a Standalone Prescription Drug Plan or Medicare Advantage Plan.

Did you know? 🤔 If you’re working past age 65, you might not need to sign up for Medicare just yet! 🙌

As long as your employer coverage is considered creditable, you can delay enrolling in Medicare until you’re ready to retire. 🎉 Be sure to check with your HR team or benefits advisor to confirm your coverage qualifies.

⏳ About 3 months before you retire (and lose employer coverage), it’s time to start the Medicare process. Don’t forget to have your employer complete Form CMS-L564 to verify your creditable coverage! ✔️
